Three of us stayed here one night in two rooms. Glenure is on a pleasant road a shortish walk from the town centre. It's a traditional Victorian house with a beautifully tended front garden with off-street parking.

Our room was spotless and had everything you would need. It had double and secondary glazing, so any traffic noise would be minimal, but the road was not busy in any case. Bed was comfy and we had a good sleep. Shower in the morning was fine, though electric so not the most powerful, but absolutely fine.

Breakfast was great, usual help yourself to fruit etc followed by your cooked choice made to order. The eggs had gorgeous deep yellow yolks.

Reasonable price for the standard of accommodation. Overall, all good.

Nice clean friendly place in a quiet part of town with a lovely breakfast. Bit of a walk into town for food but plenty to choose from there. Very reasonably priced great value fully recommend Glenure to you.

It was Bank Holiday weekend and we wanted somewhere near the hospital and all hotels we tried were full. We looked for B&B's in Dumfries and there was a list of them.
I chose this one. When I rang to book we were so lucky that they had just what we wanted in room accommodation. It proved to be a most brilliant find. The Victorian house was beautifully decorated throughout, our rooms were large with ensuite facilities. The breakfast would not have been better in a four star hotel, freshly cooked to requirements and lots of choice for those who did not want the full Scottish complete with haggis.(which I had!) The owners were very pleasant and helpful - it was a joy to stay there. Finally the display of flowers was incredible. It's no wonder that the owner has won prizes over the years . Heartily recommended.

Room tip: All are quiet but those at the back might have the edge

Booked the Glenure after the usual internet search, and what a fabulous choice it turned out to be!
Stayed for 3 nights. Is a short walk from the train station, and not much further into town. Hosts Freda and John were incredible from the moment I arrived, and could not do enough to help. Excellent breakfast, and everything that you needed in the room. Highly recommend!

My wife Jeannie and I spent two nights here recently, on our first ever visit to Dumfries. We'd picked Glenure at random, but it turned out to be a great choice. The lovely hanging baskets & tubs outside gave a really good first impression, soon reinforced by a warm, friendly greeting from the two owners.

Inside, we found ourselves in a very clean and comfortable room, with all the facilities you'd need- we were really impressed! Bedding was freshly laundered & the mattress a joy to sleep on.

Breakfast - served in a bright, pleasant room, and cooked to perfection. Plenty of choice, piping hot - couldn't ask for more.

The Glenure is about 10-15 minutes on foot from the town centre, or you can catch a bus in, so quite nicely placed.

Those are the "pros", then, so we're there any "cons"? Well......some traffic noise in the mornings, and I found the shaving mirror a bit too high for my 5ft 4ins (should have brought a "Grow tall" step hehe). I'd still give the Glenure 11 out of 10!
