Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Must do for a trip to Edinburgh. The views are spectacular.

We walked to the shallower longer path direct to the summit which was easier going. Then the steep one down which was a bit dodgy under foot but much quicker.

This was a highlight to our trip, the views were spectacular and well worth the walk. The walk however is not for the faint hearted, it is high and long and at times very muddy (early April) would not advise wearing white shoes as I saw many people doing. This is a great walk on a sunny day, would not recommend this in the rain, you do need some grip if it has been damp.

Amazing views over the surrounding area. Good shoes/walking boots recommended, quite slippy if it's been raining but well worth the climb!

This hill summit is 850 feet above sea level, giving you a spectacular view of the skyline of Edinburgh and the firth. It is a great climb, takes around 40 minute if you are fit, up to 1h and half if you’re slow like me.

It is an incredible hike and a great fun. Bring your cameras, your lungs and your eye for a proper view.
