Everything was fantastic. Amazing staff, astonishing travelers and.community, great facilities, though the kitchen gets quite busy at midday or between 8-9pm. If you go to the bar, give a try tp the ,,caledonian three hops,,!! During tye year you can get a bed for six pounds night, so it,s also the cheapest place around!

Pd:The chill room is amazing!!

Room Tip: if you wanna meet people, get to the 30 beds room. What a great place to spend some nights

The hostel was great, good ubication, clean and confortable, the staff was friendly with one exception, Cristina, she was rude everyday and not helpful at all. I also recomend to do the free walking tour with other company, not with the hostel.

The beds were comfortable and they had good reading lamps and lockers but the place was tiny. The bathrooms were shocking. Two people couldn't even fit between the stalls and the basins. There would be an awkward traffic jam of getting into the shower when someone was washing their hands. There were more men's bathrooms than woman's? And the rest were mixed. This is really bizzare to me. Females need their privacy and that's hard to have in a unisex bathroom that has no space and you have to squish up with men in there. This place was less than ideal and wouldn't recommend it. For what I paid I expected more

Hi There thank you for taking the time to review us. We do indeed have some unisex bathrooms but the only area that is unisex are the sinks. All the showers areas are private pods with a changing area included in the pod. We also have completely female only and male on bathrooms for any guests that do not want to share sink areas with the opposite gender. We can only apologise if you found sharing the unisex sink area with the opposite gender an inconvenience. We do not normally get any complaints about our bathrooms that have only recently been upgraded and modernised but we do appreciate your comments and hope you will not be put off in staying with us again. We hope you enjoyed our beautiful city and we hope you had a safe onward journey after your departure. BB Manager :)

Very budget. Staff at times finish talking to each other before attending to you at reception, spacious lockers in room but bed was unchanged (unreserved beds so people can try all free beds before choosing one). Had one breakfast there, order was forgotten (waited 20mins when only 3 people were there)...good choice of teas though.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. All our beds have their linen changed after a guest has vacated. Our guests get bed tokens to put on the bed they have chosen. When a guest checks out and removed their token to return to reception indicates to our housekeeping staff that this bed needs its linen changed. If this did not happen we can only apologise but we have immediately addressed it with our housekeeping team to ensure this does not happen again. Our reception staff are normally very friendly and helpful and we have asked them to ensure they always deliver the best possible customer service. Thanks for the heads up and the positive comment on our budget prices. We hope you had a safe onward journey after check out. BB Manager :)

I wish I had taken a photo of the private room, my friend and I were able to book at Budget Backpackers. We were really happy with it, and my friend was happy to be in a room where it was just us. She is light sleeper, and although we could hear people in the hallway into the early morning, having the private room was a big help. There seemed to be a lot of community activities to be a part of and it was attached to a bar. The hostel is also near Victoria Street, which was the inspiration for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter, and Greyfriars, which has the Harry Potter Tombstones!! Definitely worth a visit!!
