“Owner's Residence - Amazing!!”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

We had the pleasure of staying at the Owner's Residence and it was amazing! I cannot fault anything about our stay. We were greeted by Neil who was so helpful and welcoming - and very fetching in his kilt! The apartment itself has the real wow factor. The rooms are so comfortable and stylish (Armani wallpaper and tiles!) and the wow factor for us was your own cinema room!! The surround sound is brilliant and the Chester Residence can also supply the DVDs and Blu-rays. The jacuzzi was great too. The location was great for walking into the centre of town (in less than 10 mins walk you are on Princes Street) and the apartments are in a lovely quiet location in the West End. All in all the Chester Residence is the best place we have ever stayed in and we would love to go back again! You won't be disappointed if you stay here!!

Room Tip: Owner's Residence - you have your own cinema, jacuzzi with TV and access to your own garden.

Fantastic serviced apartments; nothing is too much trouble for the Manager or other staff, stayed for part of our honeymoon and was made to feel very special. The accommodation is the best I have stayed in and this includes our stay at Claridges in London where we stayed after the Chester Residence. The bathroom was an experience not just a bathroom, all modern appliances in the kitchen area and the bedroom was so comfortable I wanted to stay longer. Can't say any more than 'I want to go back'

This was our third trip to The Chester Residence, and we didn't think it could get any better...... that was until Rory (GM) upgraded us to The Armani Suite - an unbelievable experience.
From the moment you open the door you are wrapped in the heady fragrance of pure unadulterated luxury. Everywhere you look you see jaw droppingly opulent details - Armani leather furnishings, original art, incredible lighting effects, stunning wallcovers, perfumed silken bed linens, pure silk drapes......................you feel almost blase about the Molton Brown and Nespresso which is always standard.
The enormous candle lit hot tub with TV was a fabulous experience, as was the private cinema and collection of Blu Ray discs.
Ian our own private kilted butler was a delight, delivering champagne cocktails on arrival, a signature "Chester Cocktail" pre dinner, popcorn and snacks for our cinema experience, and a sumptuous breakfast every morning. A very big thank you to you!
Finally, a big thank you to Rory who once again made us feel like the most important guests in the world, and at this price, for this experience, surely The Chester Residence really does offer the best hotel experience in the world? We certainly think so..................

This is a wonderful place. For very little (if any) cost above a depressing standard hotel you get a modern beautifully decorated suite of big rooms in a lovely Georgian house. The service is exceptionally good and with a nicely judged personal touch. One nice thing is that they contact you in advance to see if you want some groceries for your fridge.

The downsides:-

- as a furnished appartment you won't get a hot breakfast unless you cook it yourself in your well equipped kitchen - though they will deliver to your room some very attractive variations on a 'continental' breakfast
- it takes a little while to get full use out of their range of DVD/CD players televisions/sky boxes/ coffee machines etc though when you do it is well worth it. I was determined to puzzle it out for myself though I am sure one of their charming staff would have been delighted to help me.

The upsides much more than compensate.

One other tip, if you are looking for a local restaurant go to Queensferry (especially L'escargot Blanc) rather than Haymarket

Oh my goodness...where to start!! I just got back yesterday from a 2 night stay at the Chester Residence with my husband. We stayed in the Penthouse Apartment (no 7). Wow, wow, wow!! From the second we arrived it was clear we were in for something special. Neil (absolute star!) greeted us and even though we had arrived at 10.45 and check-in wasn't until 3pm he didn't even bat an eyelid. We would have been quite happy to leave our luggage and return later but he said if we would like to have a drink in the lounge our room would be ready in 10-15 mins.
The stairs to the Penthouse Apartment (all 72 of them..yes I counted) aren't for the faint-hearted but it was certainly worth it. We were shown round the apartment by Neil who explained where everything was and also how things worked, coffee machine etc. The whole place was immaculately clean and to be honest looked like no-one had ever stayed in it. Sheer perfection. Beautifully decorated and top quality appliances. The living room/kitchen was simply gorgeous. I think my jaw dropped when we went in the bathroom. Twin person bath, TV, huge shower. Probably my favourite room ;o) And the bedroom didn't disappoint either. Huge bed, sooooo comfortable. Lots of wardrobe space/drawers. They even offer memory foam pillows which I was extremely pleased about as I struggle to sleep on anything else. Ipod dock, surround sound systems, fluffy robes, DVD library, books. I was stunned. The standard of accommodation has to be seen to be believed. I couldn't fault a single thing and believe me, that normally comes easy to me!
The service we received was second to none. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful but special praise has to be given to Neil. Nothing was too much trouble. He really went the extra mile and we both felt like we were being treated like royalty.
We went to the lounge early on Saturday evening for drinks and canapes which was fabulous. The cocktails were lovely and my husband enjoyed his whisky specially chosen by Neil.
Sunday night we decided to stay in and watch a DVD. At approx 7pm the doorbell went and there was Neil with a bag of popcorn and two cocktails. Bless him, he'd carried them up all 72 stairs. I cannot stress how fantastic this place is. You'd be mad to stay anywhere else.
To say this place is 5 star is an understatement. It should be 6!! Neil deserves a whole star to himself.
We can't wait to stay at The Chester Residence again and have told all of our friends and family about it. We hope to see you again VERY soon.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our weekend and the beginning of my 40th birthday celebrations so special.
