The warm reception was evident from the second we entered the apartment and saw the impressive welcome pack, which was much appreciated. The flat itself was compact but well laid-out and furnished. We felt comfortable and at home straight away. The area is quiet, despite being near the flightpath to Edinburgh Airport. It overlooks gardens to the front and the Royal Burgess golf club to the back, with Bruntsfield golf club between that and the coast road. The area is exceptionally attractive to those afflicted with golf, but equally convenient to rugby fans with handy access to Murrayfield by bus a few minutes walk away on Drum Brae. There is a regular bus service to the City Centre about 100 m away ( the Lothian bus app is handy if you have a tablet or smartphone), and Service 41 stops in all the right places in the Centre. Having enjoyed numerous stays (long and short) stays in the Edinburgh area (at least twice a year for Scotland rugby games) this stacks up as the best VFM, and surprisingly convenient for access to the central attractions despite being out Cramond way.
