Up for sale and in need of bedroom refurbishment but good value overall.

Breakfast disappointing.
Should provide Scotch Morning Rolls, I would have thought.
I, in fact, had a refurbished room on this occasion which was excellent.
Restaurant dining pretty good for the money.

As a regular customer of the Dean Park I cannot praise the staff enough but on Sunday my partner and I booked for the Carvery...absolutely out of this world great choice of starters and dessert with all meats in the Carvery cooked to perfection chef who served the food was so nice and cheerful waiting staff a credit to the hotel. We headed into the bar for a few drinks and had a lovely conversation with the bar man Lewis such a nice young lad very polite and again cheerful. You made my normal depressing Sunday an absolute treat keep it up guys

Had a great bar lunch here . The fish was really good and the dessert was lovely. The manager was doing the waiting as someone was off sick and have to say he was an Irish delight ! The meal deal for lunch was a great price 10.00 for a 2 course couldn't ask for better value. It was such a treat here this time as the last time we visited we sat for ages and never served so just walked out. We told the manager this this time and he was extremely apologetic. Will definitely be back.

We were attending a wedding at this hotel and booked in for 3 nights in a disabled access room. If you are disabled and unable to get out of a wheelchair, this hotel is probably not for you. Although it states disabled access, you have to get a key to get into the hotel through the dining room door. Fortunately my husband can walk a bit and was able to walk up the front steps. I checked beforehand that it had a walk in shower for disabled, as my husband cannot get in and out of a bath due to amputated leg. If you cannot get out of a wheelchair and cannot get in and out of a bath, you will find this bathroom/shower totally unsuitable, although the bathroom was a great size, the shower cubical was tiny, only enough room to get a shower chair in and there was a 6 inch step into it. My husband can walk with his prosthetic leg, but found it very difficult to get into without his leg. Unfortunately the shower also did not heat up properly and my husband had to have a lukewarm to cold shower. I tried to have a bath instead of a cold shower, however the plug would not fit in the bath and I had to stand on it to keep the water from flowing out of the bath and just pour water straight from the tap over myself. The room was very large and had everything you would expect. All was in working order and seemed to be well maintained, other than the shower of course. The hotel has a lot of weddings and theme nights and our room was above one of the function rooms. The noise from a wedding on our first night kept us awake until 1am. Others nights were quiet. Breakfast was not the best. Yogurt in a bowl on a table along with ham and cheese slices - all lukewarm and sitting for some time. Breakfast was buffet affair and instead of cooking small amounts and refilling as required, there was a mountain of bacon, sausage and scrambled egg which looked as though it had been sitting for a long time and none of it looked very appetising. On our 2nd morning because there were not a lot of residents, we were able to order our breakfast freshly made and it was very good indeed, however on our 3rd morning i.e. Tuesday we were disappointed to see that it was back to the buffet. I think investment is required to acquire a fridge or cool area to store yogurt, ham, cheese and the milk. The Manager talked to me after I complained that the disabled shower was not suitable and explained that they are refurbishing the hotel. There is a lot of dirty worn furniture about which I believe is due to be recovered. We had dinner at the hotel one night and it was very good indeed and the service was excellent. The restaurant and bar area is quite nice, although friends of ours at the wedding didn't like how dirty the sofas were. The food at the wedding we attended was also very good. There is a nice garden area outside which you can sit in in the summer and there is plenty of parking. I wouldn't stay here again, due to the bathroom situation, but think it will be a great hotel once refurbishment has been completed. Picture is of a refurbished room and not all rooms are refurbished. Staff were mostly nice and friendly.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the function rooms if you like quiet.
