Having enjoyed our coffee and bacon buttie at the excellent, modern New Clubhouse before playing on the Jubilee Course, it was a great privilege to be invited by R&A Members to join for a drink in the main Clubhouse. We sat by the window on a fabulous Spring day overlooking the 1st tee and watched as many different nationalities enjoyed their "bucket list" moment of driving down the hallowed turf of the first fairway. After drinks we walked across to Forgan House where a 3-course lunch had been arranged for our party. The food was wholesome and nourishing and much enjoyed by all. However the view from the balcony over the 18th green and out to the West Sands was simply breath taking. This was a real treat.

Simply fantastic. On a random golfing tour with mates and went into the ballot and got selected first time so had to hastily rearrange the other courses. 7.15am hit off (Aug 2017) and whilst a bit of a chill in the air it was a great day. Friendly staff at the café and starters box. We had caddies and would suggest compulsory because you need all the help you can get. Very nervous tee shot on the 1st but all good. The course was a great condition and plenty of hidden demons - mystery bunkers and massive greens. Absolute joy coming to the 17th and deciding if to go over or round the shed, chicken out and went round. Good tee shot on the last and then the walk over and photo on the Swilcan Bridge was icing on the cake. Plenty of shops with golfing souvenirs, yes, a bit pricey but that's because the Yanks will pay anything!

Went to view St Andrews during the Dunhill Links golf tournament and got to actually spend time on the Old Course and walk across the Swilcan Bridge which has been on my bucket list for a while.

The whole atmosphere of the town is just amazing and the people so welcoming and friendly. will definitely be back.

the gift shop had lots to offer golfers visiting the birthplace of golf. However, you pay dearly for the privilege. But you may only visit once so bite the bullet and buy something to commemorate your visit. The items were of good quality.

Had an excellent day on the links yesterday, the old course was in excellent condition and we had a great time. Weather was great which obviously helped.

If you ever get the chance to play the old course grab it with both hands
