Loved the food and the hotel has a great setting with lovely decor. My 14 year old daughter had booked a voucher through the hotel to celebrate Mother’s Day. On arrival at the hotel the voucher wasn’t recognised and several staff had to check with my daughter what she had purchased causing much embarrassment for her. Many of the waiting staff appeared new to the job as they couldn’t tell us what was on the cake stand. No-one offered to take our coats yet other guests had their coats taken away.
Left feeling disappointed with the overall experience and my daughter felt embarrassed.

Dear Paula,

thank you for the constructive feedback you provided and please accept my sincere apologies for coming short of our usually high service standards. I hope this will not deter you from visiting our bistro again when we will work very hard to re-assure you of our commitment to great service and food.

Kind regards

Herve

Booked on the last day we could use our voucher but had to cancel due to the very bad weather. Contacted the hotel who agreed to extend the voucher for a week however they couldn’t accommodate us as they were fully booked. The hotel booked us in for Mother’s Day and agreed to accept the voucher. Absolutely fantastic serve. The afternoon tea came - instead of stands with sandwiches we were each given an individual plate which consisted of a small goats cheese tart (I don’t like goats cheese but this was nice!), a tomato tartlet, brioche roll with egg, smoked salmon on bread and a mini croissant with cheese and ham - everything was delicious. The cakes - wow! Warm mini scones, lemon meringue tart, donuts, and candy floss!! The staff were very nice and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.

We traveled to St Andrews for a weekend while the country was experiencing some of the worst weather we've had in years. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and advised that many restaurants in the town were shut due to the lack of deliveries due to the weather. We had already planned to eat in the hotel that night so were happy to book a table there. We were shown to a large and welcoming sea view room with great facilities - the waterfall shower was particularly good. That evening we both ordered steak which along with the sides was cooked as ordered and particularly tasty. Service was excellent - well knowledgeable staff, who thanks to the weather and fewer customers, had time to chat about both the food and life in general! Portions here are hearty so you certainly would leave hungry. We then took advantage of the free dram voucher through in the bar where again the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable (without being condescending).
Breakfast included a range of healthier continental buffet options or the traditional cooked options and both were of excellent quality and quantity.

We'd certainly stay here again.
