Owner description: The ROOM is a live escape game adventure centre, which offers challenging, stimulating live team adventures, where you and your friends, colleagues, or family work together, brainstorm, examine, investigate, and finally, escape the room. The games encourage critical thinking and creativity, move you out of your comfort zone and make you use parts of your brain you never knew existed. The challenge of each game fosters team work and team spirit, provides a sense of achievement and a healthy adrenalin boost regardless of age, gender, and profession. THE ROOM is unique in the UK as it is the only venue where a team of 18 can play together in one beautiful large room for 90 minutes. Also, it is the only venue in Scotland where as many as 39 people can play in any given moment, in 4 brilliantly crafted games. All games at THE ROOM have multiple challenges for your team: pull the story together, solve the mystery, and of course, escape. THE ROOM experience is what you make it - fun, cooperation, team development, learning about yourself and your friends. Come visit us, close THE ROOM's door and open your brain's! You will be proud to see that you can put Sherlock himself to shame.

This was our second attempt at an escape room but importantly, this was the first time visiting "The Room".
There were four in our group and we attempted the "Mystery Room".

The attendant gave us basic health and safety instructions but that was pretty much it.
Not having an idea of where to start, we wandered aimlessly to find the first clue but as it wasn't a case of one clue leading to the next, we weren't sure if the info we were finding was of any importance, we had to ask for help fairly often.
We only seemed to gain some ground towards the end as things (after guidance) started making sense.

It was an enjoyable experience and would like to try alternative rooms.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Room challenge. It was tricky and we needed help along the way at times but it was a fun experience!

I'd wanted to do this for ages. I think it would have been much better if they hadn't messed up on the room preparation. They listen to you from outside and give you hints on a screen if you get stuck (obviously there's a time constraint). Unfortunately, the room hadn't been put together properly after the last people had been in, and a key was hidden in the wrong place. This meant that we were solving clues out of sequence, and didn't really know what we needed to be focusing on. At times we felt a bit lost . Eventually they realised there was a problem and the guy opened the door and chucked in the key we SHOULD have had to open the thing we should have opened in the first place. By this time we'd skipped a step which left us really confused.
There were four of us - I was the instigator of the experience and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, the one who thought he'd hate it really enjoyed it despite the hiccup, and the other two just bickered over the clip board.
Overall we all enjoyed the experience of trying to work in a team with four team-leaders and no minions, the puzzles were fun, the answer to the mystery was the least of it to be honest. It's an enjoyable way to spend an hour, and I'm sure it would have been much better if they hadn't messed up on the preparation. We agreed we'd try another room sometime if we can get a discount voucher from Groupon or Itison. I was a bit disappointed they didn't offer a discount for another visit at least and didn't want to spoil the day by complaining..... Anyway, we went for gin at the Griffin after, so that helped!.

Hi Helen

So sorry to hear there was an issue with the room re-setting and that it negatively impacted your experience. Situations like this are very rare and, although mistakes can happen, we taken them vary seriously due to the impact it can and clearly did have on the customer experience. I would gladly offer you a discount for your next game!
Please get in touch at enquiries@riddlerooms.co.uk and I will send a discount for you.

I bought a voucher for The Room for my brothers birthday and we went as a family with his kids. We had a fantastic time and everybody played their part. Would highly recommend for families, friends and any other groups.
