I didn’t expect much as it is adjoined to a Bunkhouse. It is also slightly off the town’s main thoroughfare. Having said that, it commands a good location with seating next to the River Spey opposite. I was alone and opted for the Old Mill for some food. Although fully booked on an early summer Saturday, they found me a table with a promise to vacate within 90 minutes- no problem. Loads of people were coming through the door on-spec asking for tables, only to be turned away. The bar was busy too as well as the outside areas on either side of the road. I opted for the sirloin, mushroom sauce, potato dauphinoise and roasted cauliflower. It was an exceptionally well cooked and presented meal. The fresh bread with simple salt & pepper butter was equally as nice. I will return, but making sure that I have a reservation. Thank you.
