Normally, I find that there exists an inverse proportion of view to quality of food (ie: the better the view, the worse the food).
Thankfully, this was not the case at Crannog’s. We were seated at a lovely cozy window table with great views of the Loch. And the food was delicious and well prepared. We started with the best Cullen skink we had tasted (lots of haddock and great big chunks of potatoes with just the right touch of cream) and the duo of cold and hot smoked salmon. The quality of the salmon was superb.
Then we had the langoustine special and the lobster special, all local fare! The prices seemed on the steep side at first, until the dishes came out with extremely generous portions.
