Dropped in on busy Easter Sunday and were welcomed by smiling waitress. Tasty fish and chips and cullen skink. Nothing too much trouble. Always a treat

There is no doubt that this is a popular venue in the small town of Nairn. My wife and I were there on a Saturday night in March and it was packed.
I quite liked the interior but the tables were crammed in and there was no space to stand at the bar whilst waiting for our table without being on top of the unfortunates that were trying to eat their meals in piece.
We had a table near the entrance which was fortunately tucked into a corner. A rowdy group of middle aged hen do celebrators were on the next table which added life and noise to the occasion.
The food came out pretty quickly and was ok but no more than that. Big portions are fine but actually, I would rather have a smaller portion of food which is of higher quality. The onion rings that came with my burger were poor.
Maybe this is No1 in Nairn because there is not much choice....

I'm not quite sure what to say, Rob. We've had no complaints, onion rings are our biggest selling side dish (along with garlic bread), we're always very busy on a Saturday night. We are indeed popular, with both locals and visitors alike. I'm guessing you had the Highland Venison and Chorizo burger, which had been on as a special? Again, a huge (and hugely popular) dish which is exactly as described. Sorry it wasn't to your taste. thanks for visiting the Classroom and taking the time to review us.

Warm friendly atmosphere with well trained helpful staff.
You could taste the freshness in the starters. Quality ingredients in all the dishes, faultlessly cooked to perfection. Beautiful presentation made the food a delight to look at and the taste didn't disappoint either.
Attention to little details made the visit even more enjoyable, genuine top class service by all members of staff.
Espresso Martinis mixed to perfection.
Absolutely nothing to fault, what a delight of a dining experience.
Clean well serviced toilets too.
Can't wait for a return visit to this gem.

... and that was fine! This restaurant is situated on a corner of 2 roads in the middle of the town & looks great from the inside & outside with big glass windows and a revolving door on the corner for access (look out Americans! It goes the wrong way for you!)
There’s a real buzz about the place and the clientèle is truly mixed from under 5s to over 70s, at least in my case! Service is good, and unfussy. Younger wait staff who are suitably attentive. There’s free WiFi everywhere. I had a special of venison mixed grill washed down with a glass of Merlot. The whole super value at £24, and very tasty indeed. The place was very busy, and the only slight downside was that as a single diner, I got bumped from all sides by other diners and wait staff. A minor point but worth noting. I’ll happily come back here. Really recommended.
