Stayed here for one night from London on Friday, 13th of January on the way to view a boat for sale in beautiful nearby Largs the following morning. If you stay at this hotel try to visit Largs and visit the quite outstanding and modestly self-proclaimed "world famous" Italian cafe and ice crem parlour extraordinaire right on the waterfront with amazing views. But I digress.

Other reviews of this hotel on TripAdvisor were very good indeed so I was confident to take up their offer of a very good special 'quiet season' offer for the night.

Directions - very easy to find using the hotel address in both TomTom and Co-Pilot satnavs and even a signpost to the turning off the main road - well done! Always an important point for me.

The room is of a very high standard indeed - clean, lovely soft furnishings, modern with an upmarket quality feel.

The TV was a nice modern flatscreen Samsung with HDMI socket so you can connect your laptop (remember to bring an HDMI cable!) and watch saved iPlayer programs, films etc through the TV. Note: wi-fi is chargeable - didn't ask the price - just used mobile hotspot on the smartphone and there is an OK T-mobile signal here for fair speeds.

Convenient and large car park right in front of the hotel. The young lady on reception was very efficient and sweet with a lovely Scottish accent.

Dinner in the hotel was first class offering an excellent three course dinner option for £19.95. My choice of a haddock main course was quite the best tasting example I have ever experienced. My choice of sticky toffee pudding dessert was also outstanding. Very helpful dining staff who seem reticent to offer the opportunity to leave a well-deserved gratuity - I only remembered and corrected my oversight the following morning - mea culpa!

Arrived at hotel on NYE to massive modern and well presented room. 5 course meal was excellent. Hotel Operations Manager Paul ensured we were well looked after and a great night was had by all. All in all excellent value for a NYE party.

Used "booking.com" to book the room only a couple of hours before our arrival after having our room double booked in another hotel! Even though the hotel was quite full they found us an absolutely superb large room at the top end of the hotel, sure this must have been a premium room but they only charged us the standard rate !! The Buffett breakfast served in the spotlessly attired dining room was excellent and well attended.
We were meeting family most nights in the hotel bar and reception and the staff could not have done more for us. Even the cleaning staff in the morning had a "Good Morning" for us !
All in all an absolutely superb 3 day stay. I would like to thank the management and staff for a truly nice time. I would not have any hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Superb.

Stayed in deluxe room with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Christmas party night was on in the function suite and we never heard a thing in our room - bliss. Our evening meal was also one if the best ever, cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. Breakfast was a buffet and staff always on hand if required, my request for porridge was well worth it and produced in no time at all. Cant wait to return. Staff are a credit to the hotel and the hotel a credit to the area. Thank you
