We are located as close as you can get to the heart of this picturesque Victorian town. Fern Cottage Restaurant offers a warm Highland welcome, truly tasty food and personal service for every customer. Our menus have an emphasis on flavour, the freshness of Scotlands' larder and a taste of the Mediterranean. There is now more than ever on offer with different menus at lunch and dinner times. Retaining much of the original ethos of using Scottish, seasonal ingredients to create dishes with a Mediterranean twist, our food is cooked to order and guarantees a treat for your taste-buds, whether a classic or a contemporary dish. Fern Cottage is now on winter hours. We will be open for lunches from 12noon with last orders at 2.15pm. We will re-open for pre-theatre or a la carte in the evening all using seasonal produce - we offer you something special every time. We stayed in Pitlochry for a couple of nights and this restaurant was by far the best placed we ate.

I had haggis to start and venison as my main. My boyfriend had steak. Both meals were great and the meat cooked well.

The service was great and our waiter (sorry didn’t get his name) went out his way to make sure we were satisfied and happy at all times.

Thanks - we’ll be back next time we are in Pitlochry.

Had a lovely lunch at this little gem, great atmosphere and good food. A well laid out restaurant with great access for wheelchairs, a small but we'll thought out lunch time menu to cater for all. Good facilities and friendly staff. Big thank you to Jackson for serving us, excellent host with plenty of local knowledge. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

On a weekend trip to Pitlochry me and my partner found this restaurant upon recommendation from the hotel we were staying in. Hidden of the main road this restaurant really was a great find. When we arrived it was pleasantly quite with only two other groups dining therefore despite some reviews stating service problems, we personally never experienced this. In fact we were surprised to see any negative reviews about the service because we thought our waiter had gone over and above to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, unfortunately didn't catch his name but he really did provide a first class service. The quality of the food was fantastic, I had the venison and my partner had the lamb, the meat was cooked to a great melt in your mouth standard and the season veg (carrots, broccoli and cabbage) that came with the dish was delicious. We had dessert (sticky toffee pudding with ice cream ) which also did not disappoint. The restaurant also serve a good selection of quality wine and beer. If we return to Pitlochry in the future we will definitely eat here again as the quality of the food was unparalleled to the other restaurants/ pubs we tried in Pitlochry.
