Off the High Street so, easy to miss for the day tourist as a place for coffee, lunch when there are so many other places on the High St. What the Glasshouse Cafe has to offer is different. A nice place to sit outside, weather permitting. Child friendly and spotless toilet facilities. Friendly staff.

We popped in for lunch today as sun was coming out and I wanted to sit outside somewhere and I knew the kids would be able to run about till their lunch was served.
Ordered basic cheese toastie and a cheese panini and was told no coleslaw left so they were putting a few chips on the plates instead! Seemed strange replacement to me and a shame as it just meant more carbs! Was a little annoyed as how they can advertise it as 'home made coleslaw' when already run out of at start of the week!! They werent very busy but perhaps had been as were a few tables outside that hadnt been cleared yet (and cause windy crisps etc had been blown onto ground). Inside the floor could have done with being swept too. Not the 1st time that it hasnt been too clean. Staff friendly and lunch was quick to arrive. Would be good to see a little more thought put into the menu as its rather basic but its all fine and my 2 enjoyed their lunch and run on the grass and I had a nice pot of herbal tea.

Modern cafe with lovely views of the gardens near the Palace. Disabled access and internal lifts to all floor allows you to view the many exhibitions. Low level is very inviting and has some history of the area around the walls. Local jewellery makers wares are on view.
