A beautiful castle that provides a lot of insight into the local history. The spaces are largely empty but in every room there is a detailed description of what was its purpose. Coastal views are unparalleled.

Very interesting different kind of old castle. Caste structure was different kind compare many other castles. Windy place.

We totally loved this place. If you are an Outlander fan (us) it is a must, but honestly it is so much more. A dramatic windswept place where you can wander and soak up the history. Very delightful and friendly staff. Thank you

We are fans of Outlander and we are slowly but surely visiting the film locations. Blackness castle is one of these locations. It is used as the headquarters in Fort William. The castle is still in good condition with lots of information boards to tell you how things were at the time that the castle was in use. Superb views with great history. we didn't see Claire & Jamie or Captain Jack Randall. Highly recommended.

Ok it was rainy, windy and very cold! But it was so much fun! I think if it wasn’t so cold, we could’ve spent a couple of hours here! It’s got great photo opportunities! All the different areas were fun to imagine how it was back in its day!! Teenagers even had a lot of fun! It would’ve been nice to have an audio tour!
