We visited Glenveagh today, the shuttle bus is great although you can walk from the visitor centre to the castle if you wish. The tour of the castle was very good, an actor & 2 actresses take you back with them to the early 1900’s. It’s very real and actually makes you think about the history of the castle and reality of how it came to be there. Very enjoyable day.

Beautiful, well kept. Numerous walking paths-approximately 4km to the castle where you can have a well deserved break and tea (would definitely recommend the apple pie). There is also a bus that goes to and from the castle. If you heart desires, continuing on the walk for another 4ish km will get you to the stunning waterfalls. The alternative nature walk-approximately 2km has a few more hills-tough with a buggy. Admission is free

I have been visiting Glenveagh for the majority of my life, and my love for the place hasn’t wavered since. The gardens are divine, the walks are breath-taking and is an absolute joy to journey through the park.

Visited with my partner while staying half an hours drive away in a rented cottage.
The park and castle are immaculate, we opted to do the upper glen walk which was a 4km linear walk along the lake shore to the waterfall, (4km return as this was a linear walk) it was all on the flat and we walked deep into the glen which was stunning.
We visited on a day when the sky was grey and moody and this added to the views and the atmosphere of the glen. As we visited out of season we were spoilt to be the only 2 people on this walk which added to the spectacular.
The park was free to enter and we paid 6€ for both of us return from the visitor centre to the castle.
A lovely experience in beautiful surroundings.
