We stayed here for my wife's birthday on the 9th Feb 2013. We had booked the one night romance package which was obviously on offer for this time of the year. We live a couple of miles away so this was a break from the routine. We weren't doing the tourist thing in Dublin City. Our room was a deluxe double which was lovely. Very Luxurious. The bathroom was spectacular. The reception area is full of character and checking in and out was done in a very efficent manner. We dined in the Fahrenheit Grill in the evening, had a few drinks in the Knights Bar and had breakfast delivered to the room the next morning. The service was top notch in all these areas. The Knights Bar has a great atmosphere and is a nice place for a few drinks after a meal. Our package covered one night stay, evening meal for 2 and breakfast the following morning. We felt it was good value for money. Summing it up Clontarf Castle is lovely place and we plan to return again later in the year for another short break.

We had the pleasure to stay here for 3 nights last fall (October 2012) on our first trip to Ireland. We had booked their online 3 for 2 special which was an incredible deal! We also included with our reservation an airport taxi pick up which was appreciated after a long flight. Upon arriving at the property we were immediately taken by the beauty of the hotel and the quiet location. The lobby was lovely with its castle walls and fireplace. Michael the concierge was absolutely fantastic in recommending certain sights and arranged for a taxi to take us into the city and later a premium whiskey tasting at Jameson's Distillery- which was a definite highlight! Taxis can run you 15-20 euro one way but for other reasonable transportation Dublin Bus 130 stops near the hotel and coins can be purchased at the Front Desk (@2.90 euro o/w). The hotel itself was charming and we had booked a deluxe double room which was perfectly fine for the two of us. The room was quiet, clean and well maintained and had US and European outlets which was a great feature along with free Wi-Fi! The lobby also had a computer to print boarding passes or to check emails. We did dine at Fahrenheit Grill which we both enjoyed and our waiter was attentive as can be. We particularly liked the Knights Bar with its cool atmosphere and cozy seating. On one evening we had returned to the hotel late and hungry after an all day tour, the kitchen had just closed but they managed to get us some generous appetizers of ribs and wedges which went well with our pints of Guinness! It is true that it does get busy over the weekend with weddings and other events but we delighted in meeting other folks in the bar and lobby. If that is not your scene than consider staying on a weekday instead. Overall we received top notch service throughout our entire stay and would not hesitate to stay here again!

My boyfriend and I went here as an early valentines night away. I loved it. The rooms were really nice, food was yum (especially the BBQ Ribs starter - it was out of this world!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great value for money and the breakfast was great too!

Stayed at the hotel for an overnight stay with my husband using a Travel zoo voucher and will most certainly be returning in the near future. Location is excellent for exploring the city and surrounding area.
The hotel is beautiful with lots of character, staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was lovely and cosy. We dined in The Fahrenheit Grill restaurant which was first class and we were faced with the same at breakfast the next morning.
Really is a lovely hotel in the heart of a wonderful city.

we stayed at Clontarf castle from 3rd-6th Feb 2013 for my husbands birthday and wow! we had a fantastic time! from the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for us. We received a complimentary room upgrade on arrival and were taken to our room by Michael the concierge who was one of the most helpful and genuine guys we have ever had the pleasure of meeting, this fella could not do enough for us. He was there everyday helping us to plan our short stay and get the best out of our visit to Dublin, pointing us to all the best bars and tourist attractions that Dublin has to offer and told the most wonderful stories about the history of the hotel and Dublin itself. He was always on hand to assist us and nothing was too much trouble, here is a man that loves his job and genuinely wants guests to have a great time. The Hotel itself was amazing and the food was fabulous, we ate in the grill and Knights bar during our stay and it was top notch we honestly could not fault it. A cake was brought to our table for my hubbys birthday after our lovely meal and when we returned to our room there was a small cake there too waiting for us on a plate that had happy birthday written on it in chocolate! courtesy of Michael. All the staff are fantastic and this is truly hospitality at its very best! The Hotel is spotlessly clean and such an amazing building and so relaxing, we loved it! we are returning in April and looking forward to it! If you are thinking of visiting Clontarf, pack your bags and head off you will not be disappointed and don't forget to say Hi to Michael the concierge as he is a total gent and will go out of his way to make your stay one of the best you have ever had! nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Clontarf everyone has a warm and friendly welcome for you. Simply the best :)
