Me and my husband were brought this weekend away by our children as an anniversary present , the hotel is spotlessly clean and our room was comfortable and well appointed ,even if it was right at the top of the stairs. The breakfast was fine nothing fancy but we,re sure it wasn't 5 star prices ,nothing bad to say about The Dergvale good budget stay

Stayed at this Gem for a week long vacation and it was one of the best hotel stays ever. This is a Family business and it shows in the day to day operation. If you need tickets for any attractions or a taxi for hire the staff will arrange this for you without hesitation. Rooms are very comfortable and it was the best sleep I ever had at a hotel. Breakfast was great and Nancy made sure you had adequate breakfast before you went out for the day! Olga was on in the evening to pour Pints in the quaint lounge . We sat every evening and had drinks and relaxed before we went to bed.Gerard was also great to chat with about local points of interest and also took an interest in your daily activities. I could go on and on ......My overall experience with this hotel exceeded my expectations!!!! If you do visit The Dergvale ,please take the time to chat with these Folks and enjoy their hospitality!

We wish to extend our warmest feelings for the impeccable service, the good breakfast (much to choose from), comfortable rooms and the perfect location near to city center.
If you are more than three to shower in the morning, you may have to shower in cold water but this is a very small detail compared to the overall impression we had of the place: nearly perfect in every way.

We spent 3 night in this delightful family run hotel. The owners were extremely nice and helpful and gave us great tips on places to visit on the outskirts of Dublin, and on restaurants and pubs. Although the rooms were a bit small they were very clean and nicely decorated. Also the breakfast was very good. You not only had a choice but your choice was freshly prepared upon your arrival in the breakfast room. Also the hotel was centrally located, only a short walk to many sights, buses and restaurants. We had a perfect stay at the Dergvale Hotel and will surely stay there again! Many thanks to the owners for a great time!

Dergvale Hotel is an older building with no elevator (only stairs). The room I stayed in was clean but small. It had a twin sized bed and ensuite bathroom. Wifi was also included in the room rate. I found the staff to be friendly but the service was not very prompt. On several occasions I was patiently waiting to be served by reception or by staff in the breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast, it was delicious. It included eggs, sausage, bacon, toast and coffee.

The hotel is in a great location. It's about a 10 minute walk to O'Connell Street and about a 20 minute walk to Temple Bar. Also just a note for those wishing to visit Temple Bar. It's a tourist trap. The pints are way overpriced. Ask the friendly locals or hotel staff to direct you to pubs with more reasonable prices.
