The B and B is a mid-1800s mansion situated on a few acres of farmland with horses running in the field alongside the driveway (making an ol Kentucky boy feel right at home). The showers at this B and B were the best of our entire holiday, a huge modern bathroom offered all of the comforts of home, and a shower with a showerhead high enough for a giant (mois) to actually shower in comfort. After cleaning up we climbed into the two most comfortable double beds we would have the whole holiday, and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning we awoke and got ready to start the day. Alan had prepared a very extensive traditional Irish breakfast that consisted of bacon, fried eggs, toast, cereal, mushrooms, black and white puddings, and a couple of grilled tomatoes. It was filling, awesome, and just what the doctor ordered for our next adventure. So when booking accommodations in Kilkenny we wholeheartedly support Alan and the Glendine Road Inn.

Enjoyed sadly only one evening with our lovely host Alan. Our location allowed very easy access to all that Kilkenny offered which was highlighted by perfect weather. Following a very comfortable nights sleep and the perfect Irish Breakfast we followed Alan's recommendations visiting Kells Priory (not planned but well worth a visit) as we continued with our tour. Would highly recommend a stay with Alan in his family country house.

This lovely house is only a very short drive or brisk walk to all there is to see and do in central Kilkenny. The bonus is that you return to, and wake up in, the tranquility of a wonderful garden setting with birds and dappled sun accompanying the fine, full Irish, breakfast in a comfortable main dining room. Alan, the host, offers a warm welcome and helpful advice if asked.Top value.

Old fashioned house kept in great shape. Filled with character from past years, this is a great stop if u want to spend a weekend in Kilkenny and not spend a fortune in accomodation. Rooms are very clean and include all the amenities a hotel would. Breakfast is served in the main parlour and caters for most palates...even if the full irish is not your thing, you can get cereal, toast and a veggie option of scramble eggs and mushrooms.
The gentleman running the show is extremely attentive and a perfect representation of irish hospitality
All and all a charming place to stay!

Would highly recommend staying here if you visit Kilkenny, Alan is absolutely lovely and was very accommodating even though when we turned up almost at midnight due to a delayed flight. Nice rooms and a great breakfast that comes with good advice on things to do in Kilkenny and the rest of Ireland.
