We've been to Chef and Brewers before so knew what to expect but this was the first time we've been to Swan. We were very impressed with the service by Vicky, very attentive and friendly

We visit the Olde Swan fairly regularly as we always receive a friendly welcome and the food is great, but sometimes you find when there's a large party, things are not quite the same......however.....

An excellent Sunday meal for a large family party of 14. Very welcoming staff and they accommodated us perfectly in the back room. The food that was served was really delicious, piping hot and perfectly sized portions. Everyone enjoyed the meal without exception. All meals were served together - the kids roasts were amazing value for money and the delicious roast dinner was as good as you would cook at home (without the workload). The staff, particularly Roisin and the tall good looking ;) guy who served us drinks (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name), were delightful and couldn't do enough for us and believe me we kept them busy. ...and they even brought our birthday cake out with the candle lit and helped sing 'happy birthday'.
A perfect afternoon and very chilled, lovely to spend quality time with family and enjoy a lovely meal out together. Thank you very much Ye Olde Swan

Our visit to the old Swan this evening was a pleasant surprise. All local chef and Brewer pub is appalling but this one was actually very good. Or serving staff Roisin and her male colleague were excellent, friendly and efficient. We had for our main courses a steak and a mix grill both of which were beautifully court other than our steaks plain medium rather than medium rare. Lovely atmosphere in the pub well worth a visit. Are only disappointment was a rather poor selection of real ale.

Hi Steadmanfamily

Thank you for taking the time to review us we really appreciate all our guest feedback.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to our pub and that our staff gave great service! We will pass on your comments to the chefs regarding the food they work so hard to deliver such tasty dishes.

Regarding our ales we apologise you feel this way we have a selection for everyone and each one different from the rest and our guests usually love them. But we do hope you come back soon as we have some tasty new dishes coming to our menu this month!

Thanks again.

Visited for a late Sundaybafternoon meal last weekend. Chose it because we had Tesco vouchers and have enjoyed the food at othe Chef and Brewer pubs, but have previously been let down by service, reviews of this pub were so good. Setting is charming old pub in a lovely village. Service was outstanding, but I felt a bit sorry for our Wonderful waitress (I think her name is Hannah) because she was having to apologise to every table, unable to serve the burger buns and announce an increasing number of unavailable meals. Some of the unavailable were forgivable by 6.00 of course some roast meats had gone, but there were quite a few more. Everything was well cooked, the bowl of olives was massive and very tasty. The toast with our seafood sharer was not toast but a couple of slices of untasted packet bread, and I struggle to understand why tartare sauce and prawn cocktail sauce has to be sweetened, I couldn't eat it. Mains were very nice, and the special dessert St Clement's pie was extremely good, and not as sweet as the sauces served with the seafoodThis will now be our to go to place for a reasonably priced pub meal, especially if all the waiting staff are as good as Hannah. The lady who took us to our table and took our drinks order was also impressive.

Hello pat E

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback.

We can only apologise about certain items being unavailable on our menu unfortunately we had to remove burger buns as the allergen information was incorrect as the recipe had changed at the manufactures and this meant that a guest could have an allergic reaction so we had to remove them

This in turn had a knock on effect on the roasts as the burger is the second biggest selling dish on after Sunday roasts, so in effect our guests chose Sunday roasts so we sold more than expected which is why we ran out.

We apologise again for the pork we have logged this with our meat supplier.

As for the sauces being too sweet we apologise our guests normally enjoy them but we will talk to our head chef and see what we can do

Thank you again and we apologise your experiance was not up to our usual standard we appreciate all our guest feedback.
