A midweek lunch for my sister's birthday saw us parking straight outside and all enjoying their choices. Interesting focus on vegetarian options. My pate was parfait, perhaps a bit cold; the steak was tender and richly flavoured, with celeriac puree and greens a good foil. Smoked pineapple with nutty cream was a new one for me and well worth the extra calories. We only wanted tap-water, which was promptly served with the mint garnish. Friendly and intelligent service, a quiet atmosphere, rather plain decor...meaning overall good attention and no fuss. Our recommendation came from a Heaton Moor neighbour; we'll go again, now that I'm told Damson is moving away from fine dining.

Starter:Beer battered salt pickles, parsley and tarragon mayo
Main:Braised featherblade, curly kale, celeriac puree, truffle and parmesan chips
Side:Steamed hispi, Romesco sauce
Desert: Doughnuts, lemon cream, fennel granita, sugared almonds

Its hard to find words for the standard of this food. This is just a phenomenal place to eat in terms of the ingredients used, the standard set, the taste...you name it.

It's not easy to compare meals you eat I know but we (me and my foodie wife) put this meal " up there " as amongst the best we have ever had.

I can't pick my favourite (but the chips are immense!). The feather blade is the signature dish (quite understandable).

The service is good, the environment is bright and relaxing (we were there for lunch on a lovely sunny day) and the beer was excellent (Blackjack Fullhouse)
Go if you can.

Read about this place in an article about best current places in Manchester.

Lived up to expectations, service was great, setting was nice and food was excellent!

Great value on the lunch menu. The coffee was one of the best I have had in a restaurant, many seem to let themselves down on the coffee...

Great food but sadly no atmosphere.
The food was outstandingly good but marred by the location. Drunk girls, stag dos all within easy reach. Shame.

Unbelievably good - I'm not sure whether to recommend the featherblade steak which utterly melts in the mouth - or the cauliflower - which is absolutely delightful - more because they are both brilliant. Better come more than once and try both. The staff are incredibly helpful - to the extent of being prepared to pop out and get something if a customer wants it and they don't have it in. You should definitely come and try the food for yourself
