A midweek lunch for my sister's birthday saw us parking straight outside and all enjoying their choices. Interesting focus on vegetarian options. My pate was parfait, perhaps a bit cold; the steak was tender and richly flavoured, with celeriac puree and greens a good foil. Smoked pineapple with nutty cream was a new one for me and well worth the extra calories. We only wanted tap-water, which was promptly served with the mint garnish. Friendly and intelligent service, a quiet atmosphere, rather plain decor...meaning overall good attention and no fuss. Our recommendation came from a Heaton Moor neighbour; we'll go again, now that I'm told Damson is moving away from fine dining.
