Owner description: The Museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

Was very disappointed in the amount of scientific info aimed at adults, seemed mostly aimed at entertaining kids. Lots of the interactive stands were broken or missing pieces so overall a waste of time.

Spent a full day exploring the museum witht eentire family. Kids loved the interactive sections whilst adults enjoyed exploring the different exhibits. Lots of "live" events that were included although we didnt pay the extra to enter the Robots exhibition.

One might not think that a museum of science and industry would be a "must see" attraction, but my wife and I really enjoyed the 2+ hours we spent here. They've done such a fantastic job with this museum. I particularly like the emphasis on the role that the city of Manchester played in developing industry, for England and the world.

This would be even better if you have kids! And it is FREE! [But make a donation!]

We went to see the Robots exhibition specifically which was really interesting but there's plenty for everyone to visit and see in this big museum - well worth a visit!
