Pleasant staff, but very poor location. Not close to any amenities at all, unless you are visiting Strangeways Prison which is handily located next door. Rooms are small, bathrooms naturally even smaller, no storage space, no drawers, not even a bedside table. Not sure why anybody with a choice would stay here, honestly. It is over 1 mile from the city centre, and not a pleasant stroll by anybody's definition.

Room Tip: To get a good room, select a hotel in the city centre instead.

Lovely staff and clean rooms is always a good start but it didn't stay that way, one towel for both of us, once we got back to our room later that night we found our room absolutely roasting, we checked the wall heater but it wasn't on, luckily we left our window open but we got little sleep and what little sleep we got was broken by the unbearable noise of rain water hitting the metal window sill, now you may think I'm exaggerating about the noise but I kid you not.... it was LOUD, we were offered a free breakfast but we had made plans to eat at a local harvester.

Checked in Wednesday 26th July with my wife, (1445) chatting to the two lads that were on, happened to say I Used to work with Travelodge, was asked for my discount card which I don't have because I don't work for Travelodge anymore, for some reason they actually said it didn't matter and they could sort out half price discounts on food and drink, great, that saves Time looking for places around town, but an hour later, it was a different story saying they wouldn't be giving discount, talk about dangling a carrot In front of a horse,... Won't be returning any time soon....

We stayed here while visiting Manchester for a funeral and the hotel itself was perfectly acceptable for a short stay. We had to wait a bit on checking in as the two guys at the reception desk were obviously busy with something else and it took them a few minutes to acknowledge us and say they would be with us shortly. Apart from that we had very good service from the rest of the staff, especially Abs. The room was basic but clean and the beds were comfortable. There were a few hangers for clothes but no space for anything else so you wouldn't want to stay any longer than a couple of days. The breakfasts were excellent and the rest of the food we had was of the type you would cook at home from frozen. I would advise anyone with a car to use the car park beside the hotel because our car was broken into and the window smashed while temporarily in the street on the other side of the hotel. The area around the hotel seemed a bit dodgy but it was only a ten minute walk to the city centre so the location had plus and minus points.

Easy check-in, clean room, quiet, and a five minute walk into town. Car parking next door was £10 for 24hrs. Would stay here again. WiFi was the only downside as only given 30 minutes free, but I suppose that's all you need if just using the hotel to sleep in.
