We stayed here for one night on Tuesday 27th March. We were staying over as we were attending a Sam Smith concert. The hotel is in an ideal location for Manchester Arena, less than a 5 minute walk from the entrance.
It was a 10 minute walk from Manchester Arndale Centre, so is also great for shopping.
The check in was easy, and they let us pay £10 to check into our room early (before the usual 3PM). Hotel staff were wonderful from the little interaction we had with them.
Our room was spotless, just as you would expect from a Travelodge, with the most comfortable bed in the world.
I would give it a 5 rating, but we were really let down by the bar and restaurant. My advice would be to avoid the restaurant for food, at all costs! Walk into the city centre and go to one of the many wonderful restaurants there.
We waited an hour for food after ordering, and from the many annoyed customers sat around us, I would say we weren’t the only ones. When the food finally did come, without any apology I might add, it was basically a microwave burger and oven chips. We paid £30 for 2 meals and drinks. Daylight robbery for what we got.
That being said, I would definitely stay at this hotel again when attending a concert, I would just not eat here!

It was great for the night I needed after our Fall Out Boy concert. There was some banging noises late at night and it was very warm. The pillows were rather firm too. Overall though it was good. Parking is an extra cost too.

The windows are badly fitting, so the room can be very cold, and the noise from the nearby area is ridiculous (both for sound check and late into the evening for shows). The beds are only big enough to take two pillow widths (not kingsize) and very hard with a quilt that's not big enough for two people.

We had a broken TV remote and kettle, but when this was reported, no one cared.

If you return to the hotel after 11, expect to join a crowd of people in the lobby, pushing at one staff member with a list (who doesn't not understand queues - so be prepared to shove yourself forwards or be left standing forever) and be checked in like a prisoner - no matter if you've got a room key or not.

It is handy for the arena, but avoid if you're intending to do anything other than crash after a show.

Another great stay at this hotel. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. It is a great location when we go to concerts at the arena. My son is a wheelchair user, the adapted room is a good size with a very large and well equipped bathroom. The staff are always welcoming. Making sure we have everything we need and offering help if and when we need it.
