My wife and I dined at the restaurant tonight, and despite dining on a special offer voucher, were treated to the best service we have experienced anywhere in the last ten years. Daniel and the team were lovely, polite and attentive. The cocktails and 6 dishes we tried were all prepared perfectly too. You couldn't ask for more!

My friend and I were lucky enough to be invited to a launch event for the new menu and from the moment we stepped through the front door, we knew that it was going to be a special night. The staff, the ambiance and the food were great (a beef wellington to die for).
However, the real test is that we went on a quiet day a couple of months ago and were just customers who had dropped in after shopping. The experience was no less perfect and the staff were great and looked after us so well. My friend is "gluten free" and this was handled graciously.

This may be an "hotel restaurant" but it's a great place in its own right.

We had booked a table for 2 using a virgin experience voucher. We arrived in the bar and found a table only to be told it was reserved. It wasn’t as the waiter then went and got a reservation sign. Found another table and ordered drinks. After 10 minutes no sign of drinks so went to the bar to be told by the barman the drinks had been on the side but had been forgotten.

Then went to restaurant where we had to ask twice for the champagne. The fun realty started when it came to the bill. We asked 3 different waiters for the bill and yet it never came. As we had a train to catch we went to the till to ask and pay bill. The girl who served us didn’t know how to key in our bill. She asked a manager how to do it but he completely ignored her. Then she asked another waiter who showed her. Still she struggled. At this point I told her we would be leaving as we would miss our train if this wasn’t sorted. Finally the bill was given to us.

Very poor serice for a 5 star hotel. The problems were made worse because there was a large table from Man Utd headed by there former manager and the staffs attention was towards them. The rest of us were were just an afterthought.

Bought a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea at the Lowry. I was not disappointed. Every member of staff greeted you with a smile and were incredibly helpful. Nothing was a problem. Daniel looked after us from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. It was great to see someone enjoying their job, full of fun, yet remaining incredible professional. A great asset to the team.
