I have been here a few times now, firstly every month or so the staff keep changing which is a bit weird ...

The set up is nice and clean and they have an open kitchen. The service can be a bit hit and miss, as for the food it is ok for what you pay but it is nothing spectacular.

They changed the menu recently, removing quite a few dishes to probably simplify it. The meat served is all halal. We usually end up in here at lunchtime if it is raining as it is so close to the office and we can't be bothered walking too far if it's pouring down ...

Comptoir Restaurant is not authentic Lebanese at all... the menu comprises many names of Syrian or Lebanese dishes, but actually they are not... I believe the kitchen staff are from anywhere except Lebanon...
Service was less than average despite the restaurant almost no customer.
Cleanliness is not at normal standard, as example a big hole in the table Vermeer was left with all traces of dirts filling it...

Manchester needs a good Lebanese restaurant so thought we'd visit Comptoir.
Loved the casual laid back look of it all. They sell a lot of items you can take away.
Service was ok nothing special and although restaurant was fairly empty we still had to grab the attention of the waiters.
We ordered the mezze. The mezze consists of a few items.
The baba ganoush was the only thing that tasted authentic.
Hummus was very bland, tabbuleh was missing its fresh taste & pomegranate sauce. Vine leaves tasted like they had come out the tin, falafel was slightly dryer than usual, cheese pastry was ok and the spicy potAto was more tomato flavour than actual coriander and chilli.

The shish tauok chicken was fine until I tried to cut one and it was extremely cold (like the meat was rubbery & not throughly thawed).

Overall my experience of comptoir was not of an authentic standard which was a shame.
