More of a Motel than a Hotel. okay for a night or two, but needs repainting, and more varied evening menu.

This is my third stay at a Campanile Hotel, but not at this particular branch.
On the plus side the hotel was close to the Tram about 5 minutes away. The room was spacious. Staff friendly, and good selection for breakfast with lovely croissants, cheeses, hams, dried meats, cereals, and breads, and fruit juices, tea and coffee.
On the negative side the carpet floor was slightly wet, the tv didn't work, and we also had to ask for loo paper, and tea and coffee supplies which weren't replenished after the first day. We had to climb a set of stairs which were in need of a lick of paint. Furthermore the evening meal was very disappointing as no A La Carte Menu, and the Buffet Menu served appears to be the very same menu every evening. They definitely require some variety.

My stay at Campanile Bordeaux Le Lac was nothing short of a nightmare. The room I was given was incredibly small and cramped, with a constant, unpleasant smell of mold and dampness. To make matters worse, the room was freezing cold with minimal heating, making it nearly impossible to get comfortable.

The state of cleanliness was appalling. There was dog urine on the floor near my bed, which was absolutely disgusting and showed a complete lack of proper cleaning. The entire room felt unkempt and neglected, with a generally rundown atmosphere.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, there was a persistent banging sound that echoed through the room at random times, making it hard to relax or get any sleep. The promised free Wi-Fi was nonexistent, which added to the frustration, especially since it was one of the reasons I booked the hotel.

When I tried to address these serious issues with the staff, they were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Their unwillingness to help or even acknowledge the problems only made the situation worse.

The food at the hotel was also a disaster—underprepared and almost inedible. Overall, Campanile Bordeaux Le Lac was an awful experience. From the filthy, freezing room to the unhelpful staff, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

However we are surprised by your feedback about the reaction from our staff. We usually try to fix any sort of trouble right away by providing another room if necessary

As for the Wi-Fi, it is working fine.
If you had trouble with it, please come to reception right away to reception and we will help you to log in.

Furthermore, we are sorry to hear that your experience with the restaurant was also bad.
Our 3 buffets (starter, main courses and desert) are fresh food prepared by our chefs every day.

Absolutely Disgusting – Worst Hotel Stay Ever!*

If I could give negative stars, I would. This hotel was a complete disaster from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find out that we had been overcharged for the room. The price we were quoted was much lower than what we were forced to pay, and the staff were rude and unhelpful when we tried to resolve the issue.

The room itself was tiny, barely enough space to move around. As soon as we stepped inside, we were hit with a horrible smell—like mold and mildew mixed with something rotting. The floor was soaking wet, and we have no idea where the water was coming from, but the smell reeks of strong animal urine. It made the whole room feel damp and disgusting and made me feel ill.

To make matters worse, there were dead bugs on the ceiling, which was horrifying and made us question the cleanliness of the entire hotel. The room was filthy, clearly not cleaned in ages, with dust and grime everywhere. The furniture was old and in bad condition, and the bed linens looked like they hadn't been washed properly.

We specifically booked this hotel because it advertised free Wi-Fi, but of course, there was none. The lack of Wi-Fi was incredibly frustrating, especially since we were counting on it for work and planning our trip.

Overall, this was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. The misleading advertisements, terrible conditions, and unprofessional staff make this place an absolute nightmare. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this dump. It's not worth the money, time, or frustration!

We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you encountered so many issues during your stay. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and discomfort you experienced.
First of all, we don’t understand how we can charge more that what you have booked. If you have received a confirmation email with a price then you’ll pay this price (only the city tax may not be included but it’s only 2.30€ per person per day and it would be notified on the email).
It is also possible that we took a deposit for the guarantee, but it is automatically released after your stay.
The condition of your room, as you described it, is completely unacceptable, and we are deeply sorry for the inconvenience. We have already addressed these issues with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure that they are resolved immediately.
Regarding the dilapidated and damaged elements of the rooms, please know that we are aware of this and that a renovation is planned for next year.
As for the Wi-Fi, it is working fine.
If you had trouble with it, please come to reception right away to reception and we will help you to log in.
Once again, we are truly sorry for your experience, and we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust in the future.

Stayed in twin room. Room was clean. Needs deepclean. AC dial front case was broken but worked. Bathroom shelf was lose, and would fall. So only put small items on it. Room service didn't replace toilet paper so had go reception to request. Hotel 5mins from tram to city. 25mins to main city centre. Didn't eat breakfast or dinner as expensive for what you get eg €15pp for breakfast. Good budget hotel. No frills, just basic room with beds.

Concerning the price of the breakfast: we offer to our clients a self-serve buffet with a lot of choices and it costs only 14.90€ which is lower than other hotels and our clients are always satisfied by our breakfast.

This is a Motel, and not a Hotel as the name suggests.

The room can best be described as filthy; The carpet was dirty and completely black in places. Long black hairs were found in the bathroom.

The door to the room, leading directly out to the car park, had air gaps. The heating system was not working, so the room was cold and damp at night.

There are shutters for the window, however, these does not keep the light from the car park out. There’s no safe in the room to put your valuables.

The pink shaded light from the main light source made me wonder if the room could also be rented on an hourly basis.

On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and able to communicate in English, and the breakfast buffet was good.

I did not have the opportunity to evaluate the restaurant.

The restaurant is extremely expensive compared with food quality and crew. The hotel itself might to be ok for one night due to its destination very close to the airport, but the restaurant staff seems to be like stoned. Problems with billing, general behaviour etc. It's a joke?

Room tip: Keep distance to the restaurant.

Concerning the billing issue: the mistake is human but if you to come to the reception we will resolve the latter with pleasure.

As far as the restaurant is concerned, the price of the menus or the plates are below than most restaurant on the city centre and we have welve-serve buffets.
