Me and my husband rented this apartment during our trip to Dinan between 26th December and 2nd Jan. After a long drive we were looking forward to getting to our cute, little apartment and relaxing. The apartment is very easy to find (however we did use a European sat nav). Jeremy's directions were very easy to follow though. The location of the apartment was perfect. The back gate leads on to the river rance and offers great views. There's lots of little bars and restaurants over the bridge on the other side of the river. Takes two minutes to walk there. All seemed to be providing a 3- course set menu at a very reasonable price. There's a little bakery there too but we didn't use it so can't comment. Looked lovely though.
Arriving at the apartment there's a few spaces to park out side but if there aren't any available you can park for free under the viaduct less than 1minute walk. That's also where the big green bin is to put your rubbish in. You walk in the apartment from the road and go straight into the bedroom. The bedroom looks grand. A large wood burning fire and seating area. A batch of wood is supplied too. We opted for the end of stay clean for 40 euro which meant that using the fireplace was a pleasure rather than having to clean it all out at the end of the stay. The washing machine is kept in the cupboard under the stairs in the bedroom so do your washing whilst you're out during the day. Although I couldn't find any English instructions for it or translations so had to google the settings. The bathroom is nice, very small bath but plenty of hot water for the two of us in the morning. There's a separate toilet across the hallway. The living room is what sold me this place. The owners have decorated it lovely. With two decent sized sofas and a little dining area. Lovely big fireplace with a gas fire. They have all the plates/utensils/cutlery etc you could ever need and a dishwasher (take your own tabs though to save buying some). Good selection of free view channels although the remote is very slow. Maybe needs batteries changing? We never had a problem with the wifi. Always a good signal. There's patio doors which lead out to a lovely, maintained garden with a back gate that leads to the river. The only negative I have is that you can hear all the heavy footsteps of the people in the apartment above. The people who were staying there when we were, had a child which loved to run around and bounce. Luckily she was in bed early so didn't disturb our sleep. The centre of Dinan is about a 15 minute walk up a very steep hill. I'm quite young and fit but that hill exhausted me but worth trying once as it's a beautiful street. The town itself is full of medieval charm. Jeremy Stark who managed the property was very helpful. Will stay again next year but would definitely recommend!!!!! Thanks Jeremy for recommending this apartment. We fell in love with it. Jeremy also manages lots of other properties in Dinan so If this ones not available on your chosen date, ask him for alternatives.
