We stayed here for one night before we caught a train to Paris. The hotel is well situated and perfectly comfortable. We had a drink at the riverside/roadside bar and then dinner in a neighbouring restaurant. All very convenient. The room was clean and well appointed and just what we needed after a long drive. We will be back in Auxerre again and will definitely stay here as it is just very easy. The staff were helpful and informative.

Room Tip: Best views are over the river, but these are on the road so compromise needed

Historical hotel with large comfortable beds (!) and a great view over the Yvonne River. Can be noisy at night if you leave the window open. The room was equipped with an AC unit. Parking for €9/day OK, breakfast for €12 not really worth it but not unusual in France. Internet worked fine. The "single sheet toilet paper" can be discounted as part of the historical experience. Friendly staff.

Room Tip: Rooms onto the Yonne River

We needed an overnight stop on the return journey from the South of France and Auxerre was chosen totally as it was in the approximate driving range for our journey plan.

We found the Hotel quite easily and it was easy to park outside although we found later that the hotel does have its own parking albeit at a charge.

The room was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful.

There was no restaurant provision so we eat at a local restaurant but upon our return there was a comfortable and adequate bar with the receptionist giving helpful and polite service.

Breakfast in the morning was more than adequate and check out was easy and efficient.

Overall a pleasant stop over on our journey.

One of those times when you wish TA had a 1/2 star rating system as this hotel was above "average" but not 4* imo.
The location was excellent, just across from the river with easy walking to the old town of Auxerre. The rooms were comfortable with a classical "old" country house type of feel to the furnishings. Breakfast was good with an assortment of breads, cheeses, meats, hard cooked eggs and fruit and juice. Parking was secure at the back of the hotel but you may need to arrange timing with other guests as cars are parked one behind the other. This wasn't an issue for us.
Hotel staff were very helpful regarding places to eat. A good simple hotel that I would return to if visiting Auxerre again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front look across a road to the river. Some noise from partiers on boats. May be a problem if you're a light sleeper.

Stayed here for one night en route back from Provence. Delightful, traditional style hotel in great location by the river in Auxerre. So quaint, beautifully presented and fabulous traditional French chateau-style decor. We had a magnificent room overlooking the river - the room was so lovely, decorated in muted shades and such a comfortable, massive bed dressed with crisp white linen. Good bathroom, well stocked minibar and a lovely touch was the tray of assorted glasses and corkscrew - so useful seeing as we were in the heart of Bourgogne! Breakfast was ample and well presented and room service was available. Good restaurants very closeby and all within easy walking distance of the mediaeval heart of the city. Secure parking at rear of hotel was a great bonus. We'll definitely be back for a long weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor overlooking the river
