We did visit the Louvre on our vacation, it was worth the 2 hour stay in the rain in the line, when you check the pictures from other pictures you can see it is always this crowded.. it is a pity they do not have some shelter for the people who did not take an umbrella. We did look for tickets to skip the line but we could not find them

How can you go to Paris and not visit the Louvre ? It was very crowded inside the Louvre on the rainy March afternoon that we went. We scheduled a private tour with Sight Seekers Delight tour company and it was worth every penny. She was able to get us through to see everything we wanted to see within a couple of hours. It was super hot inside and there was no where to sit or really get out of the way. Of course, all of the art is beautiful and it is amazing to see all of the pieces that you’ve heard about and seen in books. If you do go, I highly recommend hiring a tour guide of some sort. I think the museum would be very overwhelming without one. Scheduling a private tour ahead of time also helped us avoid the long lines to get in.

It is lovely to have lots of paintings and sculptures in the same place. You must go and enjoy it! :)

Waited for about 30 minutes to get into the museum. Was going to book on line, however they are timed tickets so can be restrictive if your not sure what time you are likely to visit. Everyone was rushing to see the Mona Lisa which caused problems in that everyone crowds around the painting and then people can’t see. They should set up a line that moves past it to help get people through. It’s a very large museum so you would need a full day or two half days to get through most of it. We stayed for about 3 hours as it was just manic with people pushing and bumping into others. Lovely collection of art and statues
