By chance we ended up here at 10 pm post new year's day... Classic, tasty French food near the Bastille. Amazing foie gras, French onion soup overflowing with melted gruyere, goat cheese salad with the cheese served fried in a batter, and melt in your mouth lamb... Small and cozy atmosphere, and good service at reasonable prices. Highly recommended...

On New Year's Day, we had walked the Promenade Plante and then came upon L'Ange 20 on the edge of the Marais. Lucky for us they were open for lunch.

We had the best meal of our 10 days visit to Paris.

We shared the fois gras entree and then each had one of the large salads - the warm goat cheese and the angel hair pasta wrapped shrimp with guacamole.

We were recommended a fortified wine to accompany the fois gras which was perfect. And then a lovely white wine with the salads.

Save room for dessert. We normally share, but this time we splurged, having the apple with a short bread crust and the vanilla poached pear with mille feuille. Both had a delicious vanilla whipped cream and home made caramel sauce.

We sat at a high top table at the bar and had a great vantage spot to watch the chef at work in the tiny kitchen and converse with the wait staff.

Would definitely return and highly recommend. Reservations would be needed for dinner.

Near Place des Vosges you would expect an overpriced restaurant with uninspiring food. Instead this small restaurant served excellent, fresh French cuisine, delicious desserts and some of the best foie gras we've ever had. Extremely friendly staff. All in all one of the best meals we've had in Paris and at a very reasonable price.

Went here after seeing reviews on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and recommended the chicken gizzards and a pork dish, both of which were delicious. Good wine selection as well, and to top it off the pear tart was fantastic. Definitely the best French meal we've had in Paris, and will be returning on our next visit.

We went to L'Ange 20 last wednseday.
First of all, the food was excellent!

But...

- the resteraunt is so full of tables, that you have almost no space to breath. The waiter practically had to jump over our table (directly in front of the door), to reach the other guests.
Don't get me wrong I am very used to french bistros and restaurant, but this was unfortunatelly exceptional.

Apart from that, the place was nice...even there have been only tourists.

If I would come back? Yes, when they have thrown out five tables.
