Wow is the first thing that comes into my mind when thinking of my recent dinner at Shang Palace. It is more than worthy of its one-Michelin starred rating...it was sensational!
We enjoyed a refined tasting menu, which had amazing dishes from glazed aubergines to Chaozhou style foie gras, Cantonese style braised lobster to a whole roasted Peking duck, soft shell crabs to Chinese cabbage. Every dish was elegantly presented, the service was discreet and attentive. There was not one thing on the menu I did not thoroughly enjoy. I would happily return today if I could!

Second visit to the Shang Palace, as in our previous visit, we had a superb dinner and excellent attention. The signature dish is the Shang Fried rice and it is something not to be miss. The menu is ample with many options from meats, seafood and vegetarian choices. All this culinary heaven is improved by nice Chinese music performed on site, adding to the experience. Recommended

A pleasantly surprise for us as Hong Konger to have a dinner prepared by a very talented HK executive chef, Samuel. Excellent recommendation of Dover sole steamed Cantonese style. All dishes were well prepared and the dessert - almond cream and sesame ball was very delicious!

A must come if you want authentic Chinese food!

We ate here for three consecutive times during our stay at Shangri-La. The highlight of our meal was the pecking duck. Actually, I do not eat duck as the after taste is not good however, the pecking duck here is unique. They carve it in front of you in a very professional and appetizing way. C'est tres bon. I love it and would like to come back very soon.

The Shang Palace reeks of authenticity and tradition. The dining room is nicely setup within the Shangri-la Hotel, and the staff offer you a warm, friendly welcome. The food reflects the decor; opulent, tasty, pricey and well presented. The peking duck was sublime. Perfectly cooked and presented with pancakes and trimming. For mains, 4 of us shared rice, noodles and a couple of main plates. The pork belly was very good. As was the beef tenderloin. The wine list was a bit hefty in price but there were a few bottles which were not too silly priced. Definitely recommend a visit here. It was busy in a Sunday evening, so book in advance. Looking at c. £125 per person with food drinks and service.
