Hotel De Paris Saint Georges
Ranked #1,504 of 1,802 Hotels in Paris
Reviewed 3 July 2015

I just returned from a trip to Paris and I stayed with my family for 7 days in this hotel. Before my trip, I looked very much for a cheap 3 stars hotel in Opera, with high score of the visitors’ comments and near to a metro station. I believed that in these standarts, it was the best choice and I booked it.
I had prepare myself from the comments that I had read and I send three or four e-mails with some asks (I requested a backyard side room to avoid the noise from the nearly bars, a curtain in the bathroom, a daily clean in the room, etc.). The answers of the mails came with delay and after re-mail of me (the last answer came when I was in Paris).
The hotel mainly addresses to small businessmen, companies’ employees or tourists with no requirements who uses the hotel for a breakfast and a sleep. Families with small kids excluded for many reasons.
The room and the bathroom isn’t in a safe-healthy situation, the small elevator often stops while you are in it (!) and all the spaces of the hotel are too small and closely. There is no curtain in the bath, the cleaning of the room is vestigial and many of extras which are blazoning of the hotel site are for laughing. There is a very good wi-fi in the rooms, but only in one device per room (!). The breakfast is simply good, but you feel the breath of your seatmate in the hall (which is one meter from the reception and used for many other situations).
Basic english speaking from the two alternate employees from reception and the rest stuff speaks only french. Generally help and attend to the requirements of the clients.
I know that the most hotels in Paris in this level and in this area are in that standarts. I suggest for the families who wants to visit Paris, to stay in a not crowed and less tourist area.

Room Tip: Backyard side and high floor to avoid the noise of nearly bars (especially in weekends).

Traveling with a budget-minded friend who chose the hotel (not my choice). The neighborhood of Pigalle is a little seedy and the first impression of the lobby was it was hot and dark. Staff is friendly and helpful. The creaky elevator that holds only two average size people makes you feel claustrophobic. The first room we were assigned was Spartan with furniture that looked as if it came from Goodwill. Due to he adjoining bars and a busy street in front of the room it was very noisy. We were given another room toward he interior court away from the street which was even smaller, but had a larger bath with a tub. The room was extremely dated, the bed was horrible. All in all the hotel is fine if you don't want to spend a lot of money and like noisy bars and strip clubs. The metro Pigalle is only a couple of minutes away.

As expected, our room was small but had high ceiling and have 2 big windows, that opens up to a view of roofs and a small courtyard below. Despite the size of the room it feels airy and sunny. Surprisingly we had a bathtub. Bathroom amenities was basic soap and shampoo. There were complimentary tea & cookies in the room. The lobby, reception area & dining area are weld together. With luggage in tow, the elevator can only fit 2 people. We love the location of this hotel because it is just 2 blocks away from a Metro Station, Bus station, and is located near reataurants, bars, and the Moulin Rouge. There are lots of groceries, bakeshops and small cafes in its vicinity which makes it very convenient for us to eat at very reasonable prices. If you love the night life this is the place to stay, clubs, bars & the red light district is just around the corner. The hotel is just beside a bar, but our room was on the quiet side of the hotel. Service is okay & everybody speaks english.
TIP: Better eat breakfast at the cafes and baskeshops around the area rather than at the hotel. Cheaper & better.

Kyriad Montmartre has the following advantages, in my opinion: location (100 meters from Pigalle metro station - line 2 and line 12- and from the bus station - nr.67 is taking you directly to Louvre and Hotel de Ville); again, location (in front of the hotel you can chose between 3 supermarkets: Monop' ; Bio c' Bon; Carrefour city); third time, location (you can reach in less than15 minutes walking the Sacre Coeur or the Lafayette shopping gallery); the very good room rate; the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in the room; the comfortable beds. If you decide to chose this hotel, you have to keep in mind that you came to Paris as a tourist who visits the city all day long and comes late in the evening to sleep deep till next morning, not a person who spends the day time in the hotel! And, you have to be very practical, to enjoy the excellent room rate and to ignore the tiny elevator, for example!

7 nights for 450 euro and was amazing! Room was a bit dated but was clean and we only needed it for a bed and shower anyway. Metro is literally 5 minutes walk and Sacre couer and Moulin Rouge are so close too as are little supermarkets and eateries :) Friendly staff, free wifi and cute hotel cat, what more could you ask for? :)
