Comfortable room, okay in size and the bed was nice. By Paris standards a fairly spacious bathroom (separate toiley) Nice breakfast buffet. Close to the metro and with line 1 to several Paris highlights. The Marais is just around the corner.

Stayed: March 2018, travelled with family

Stayed a couple days here after getting the hotel on hotwire for a good price. We would definitely stay there again! Rooms are small Europen style as noted by many, but very functional and the bathrooms are very big. Awesome wine bar and creperie very close as well. Staff was very helpful with shuttles to the airport as well and very friendly. Walls are a little thin and you can kind of hear your neighbors, but that was very minor. Would 100% stay there again next trip.

We had a twin room with a huge bathroom and separate toilet. Very comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Just a couple of minutes from Bastille station and a short walk from the market areas and lively nightlife.

Definitely recommended and would stay again

Not to mention great beer a few metres away at The Frog & Revolution

Our first trip to Paris was made perfect by this hotel. I should state up front that my wife and I were not looking for a luxury hotel, but we absolutely wanted a friendly and clean place to return to...after a long day of sightseeing...in an authentic, real-life part of Paris (not a "touristy" place). Found it.

Hotel Bastille Speria is a very clean, friendly, efficient hotel that we absolutely adored. We arrived early in the morning and they let us store our bags while our room was prepared. We went out for about 90 minutes and they had a room ready for us which allowed us to shower and relax after a long plane ride, then head out into the city refreshed. The front desk personnel were very nice, fluent in English, tolerated our hackneyed (although really trying!) French, and made us feel at home.

Rooms are "European-sized", but **big** for Europe. Perfect for 2 people. Bathroom, compared to most European hotels I have stayed in, was huge. Basic amenities, but nothing fancy. Bed was very comfortable (especially after walking all day in Paris!). Staff came in and made the beds and refreshed the room marvelously well each day. We had a 5th floor room (there are 6 floors total) and I would recommend staying on a higher floor, just so you can look at the neighborhood come alive in the morning.

And what all the reviews mention--the location. It is great! You are only 2 minutes away from the Bastille station metro--where you can catch lines 1, 5, or 8. Line 1 is probably the most important for tourists, but the others came in handy too. And just forgetting transportation options for a second, the neighborhood has a good selection of cafes and patisseries to make you happy in the morning and night when you want a quick bite.

If you are the type of traveler that doesn't need to come back to an absolute luxury every day in Paris, but rather wants to see Paris and come back to a home-style, charming, and clean place with friendly service staff, book this hotel. We are so thankful we found this place and will return.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor for good view of the neighborhood

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and were very happy - location is brilliant! Very central to a number of restaurants, cafes/bars and heaps of shops and the metro stop is literally 2 minutes walk (Bastille is the closest station). The room is a bit small and slightly dated, but clean and safe so didn't bother us as we were only there to sleep! Good heating (especially given we were there during winter!) but windows could be opened to allow fresh air in.

Staff are friendly and speak good English, and actually quite proactive. The night before we were due to check out they actually called us to ask if we needed an airport shuttle and organised it for us - 2 people for 35 euro which was actually a better option for us. Hotel is about 45 minutes from airport so it cost us 50 euro by taxi (flat fee) on the way in. Metro stop doesn't have a lift so we would have to carry our big luggage down stairs and then walk/change stops which is a bit of a hassle so having the airport shuttle organised by the hotel was a great option!

Overall highly recommend this hotel!!
