Its advertised as the oldest restaurant in Paris and has a story to support that claim, which they are very proud of and the fact it was frequented by French nobility and later by the elite among artists, politicians, actors and writers. While the history is great, the food is even better. We were part of a tour group and had a fixed menu to choose from but their were adequate choices in each category and all were superb. As part of a large group each of the offerings were sampled by someone in the group and everyone raved about the taste and presentation. We were treated to a fine white and red wine accompanying the meal and then fabulous desserts. Service was efficient and friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone!!

We were taken here by our French friends for our 25th wedding anniversary meal.We sat upstairs and enjoyed a quiet atmosphere with a good bottle of wine. This is supposed to be one of the oldest places in Paris. We found it to be delicious and service good but not bothersome. The interior is not fancy but attractive...the food is the star of the evening. We would recommend it to anyone looking for an intimate dining spot.

The service was attentive and the food was delicious. The linens were rich. It was a wonderful meal and we returned several times.

Great menu, with so much choice - ours was delicious. Service was friendly, helpful and very welcoming. It was busy, again with locals, so obviously popular. A lovely family night with four of us sharing and tasting each others meals.

With so many restaurants to choose from in Paris it is sometimes hard to know where to go. If you like classical French cuisine that is not touristy, this is the place to choose. It appears to be primarily a neighborhood restaurant.

My wife and I went out for a late Sunday morning stroll from our nearby hotel and were checking out the neighborhood weekend flea market. We had slept in so we had not had breakfast. At some point, we came across Le Petite Chaise and decided to have an early lunch there. After being seated and reviewing the menu, the waiter came by and took our order. My wife asked for the cafe creme to be brought first. This seemed to shock the waiter who asked "Now?" She was desperate and replied "Yes now" Concerned that we might have unwittingly committed a major faux pas by asking for coffee before the meal, we speculated that we could be treated as distainfully by the waiter thereafter.

Not to worry. We were treated wonderfully and had the best meal we had during our 3 week stay in France.

Great ambience, really good food.
