In my ignorance I didn't know about Angelina's being so famous for its hot chocolate. If that is all you want to experience, you can go in the bakery area amongst the beautiful pastries and get one to go. But if you want the whole experience take the time to dine. We had brunch - my companion got some dessert and hot chocolate, I had eggs Benedict - a great choice - they were served with smoked salmon upon request (I don't eat meat, just fish) and the holliandaise sauce was to die for and served on the side so I could regulate - great idea. The hot chocolate was interesting. I didn't expect it to be so thick - so be prepared. It is so rich though that this chocoholic couldn't even finish it all which is very uncharacteristic of me!! The service was very slow - so don't go when in a hurry and there can be a line as this is a Paris institution. We waited about 10 minutes for a table (third in line), but about 20 minutes to get an order placed. This may not always be the case, not sure. When we left, the line to get in was about 20 people. The dining rooms are well appointed the pastries are beautiful and delicious. If hot chocolate is all you want to experience, just do the to go - look at the dining room and pastries while waiting and be on your way.
