Best hot chocolate ever! We went there after dinner just for that and it was simply incredible! Beautiful view to sit outside at night

My friend invited me here after our Saint Germain Sunday afternoon walk. We sat down, had a glass of Chablis Cru white wine, we enjoyed salmon fillet and my friend beef tartare.
Very well prepared, a place to stay for longer

Quintessential Parisienne brasserie with an incredible history to boot. We were a large party of 8 -- all ages -- and sat outside in the awning section. Service was lovely and food delicious. Terrific people watching. A real gem. Worth going to even if you aren't in the St Germain area.

In age-old competition with Cafe de Flore next door, this is a busy place in the heart of Saint-Gervais and a perfect spot to relax & watch the passing folks while sipping a noisette or indulging on a wonderful tarte tatin. Waiting staff was efficient, maybe slightly abrupt; as native speakers we could quickly strike a joking tone with our waiter, but I watched him visibly impatient & borderline annoyed with a couple struggling to order in English; I don't think it was any worse than elsewhere in Paris, just something to keep in mind if you're expecting the level of respect & deference to the customer found normally in the U.S. This is a must try on the agenda of every traveler to Paris, but the reputation of this place clearly owes more to its glorious history and prestigious regulars of the past than to current culinary prowess or exceptional service.
