“Experience real French village”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in Gite Olivier in May with frIends, quaint peaceful French village, Jonathan was great very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable, we had great fun at the welcome evening, lots of local wines. Gite was great all the mod cons you could wish for. Must see: river cruise down canal du midi, old town of Carcasone, Minerve not to be missed, we also visited Collioure fabulous French seaside town and Montpellier. Overall would rate this very highly for a self catering holiday.

“Perfect gite, excellent holiday!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed in Gite Olivier, which is very spacious and luxurious. We felt at home with the owners and the other guests. There is lots of privacy and you only share the pool with a couple of other guests. There is a barbecue at your disposal and also a washing machine, a dishwasher, oven etc.

We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back if we were to visit the region again.

“Brilliant, couldn't be better!”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed at La Maison Des Vignes as a family group for a week in Mid June 2014. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations and was such a pleasant place to stay (We would recommend walking/driving up the hill in the evening to watch the beautiful sunset over the village and area). The village was quintessentially French and although was very peaceful and relaxing there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. In our week we managed to pack in: bike rides in the surrounding countryside including down the Canal du Mid, trip to Minerve (which is a stunning medieval village), a visit to the local market (where we tried out our French), Carcassone castle and the caves in the black mountains as well as buying fresh peaches everyday from a house in the village! To visit many of the places in the surrounding area a car is needed. Sadly, we didn't have enough time to do the olive oil tour, visit the wine caves or go to the beach, but we would do these if we came again. The host was always available if needed and was more than happy to help. We had a wonderful stay

“Relaxing Holiday in a quiet village in the South of France”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

After reviewing over a dozen gites in the south of France we selected Gite Lavande at La Maison Des Vignes as it met all our requirements for a family holiday. This was the first time we had stayed in a Gite but the booking process was simple and Jonathan provided information at all stages including directions from the airport. The Gite was exactly as described, well appointed and very comfortable. Upon arrival we were made very welcome by our hosts Jonathan and Suzanna who provided information and recommendations on places to visit and restaurants. We visited some of the nearby towns including Carcassone, Homps, Olonzac and Minerve, but spent most afternoons relaxing around the pool. There are walks and cycle routes in the area and plenty of vineyards for wine tasting.

“Wonderful accommodation -great location - warm welcome!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 for a stay in August 2013

Our second visit to the wonderful Maison Des Vignes in the Languedoc and just as enjoyable as the first. This was our first stay in gite Olivier, having stayed previously in Coquelicot and I have to say that both gites are sympathetically designed and superbly kitted out with some useful home comforts. The properties have been cleverly designed to retain the original character of the former barn (wine storage) but with a fresh, modern feel. The presentation & preparation of the gite was immaculate and the owners take great care to provide everything that you need for your stay. The pool area is very comfortable and conducive to RnR - our kids loved the pool! Jonathan and Suzanna are very welcoming hosts and we really loved the evening get together which they arranged for all the guests, which allowed us to sample some of the delicious local food and wine, produced in the village itself. They have a wealth of local knowledge regarding local activities and attractions which they are on hand to provide if so needed. For cycling fans, Jonathan is able to take you on guided road trips in the gorgeous local area, but be prepared to tackle some challenging hills! Luckily the generous pool is waiting for you on return to massage those tired legs! The location of La Maison Des Vignes is ideal; whether you want to pop over to the village boulangerie for croissant and coffee in the morning, visit the one of the vineyards in the village for degustation or access the canal du midi (only a short drive/cycle away), it's all on your doorstep. The only negative, if you're a beach lover is the slightly longer drive to the beach (30-45 mins) but having said that the beaches are lovely, so worth the drive. Things we would recommend seeing if you're travelling with kids; the nearby ancient town of Minerve, the historic town of Carcassonne, the water park at Narbonne plage, accro park tree climbing centre in Alet les Bains (Corbieres mountains), visiting the lac in Homps with excellent beach and water sports, and of course cycling / boating along the lovely canal du midi. There are some wonderful restaurants nearby; we particularly loved 'Le Bistro Gourmand' in Homps, but would avoid 'En Bonne Companie' which despite it's good reputation for food, demonstrates an obvious dislike for guests with young children.... Overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending La Maison Des Vignes to anyone. We look forward to coming back again soon, Fred & Aby Aug 2013
