my wife and i stayed at maison tranquil in april and were very impressed with the property and were made to feel very welcome by the owners, they were very helpfull with information about where to go and visit ,to eat etc, this is a lovely area to visit, made even better by the view from the house over a large lake, will definatly return !!
Maison Tranquil was the perfect place for all of our family to get together. It is a beautiful house set in the rural French countryside. The house is very spacious and comfortable easily accommodating our 12 family members.
Mark and Andrea (the owners) where the perfect Host's. They cooked evening meals for us and the food was first rate, very delicious.
I would highly recommend staying there.

Having just returned from this place I am thoroughly disappointed in both the "Luxury" gite and the owners. On Arrival the place looked fantastic, but didn't take long to realise not all was as seemed. Not sure where to start, but will try.
The "solar heated" pool was freezing, to the point where the children were crying, made worse by having to scoop out dead mice and shrews every morning. The pool room consisted of an ancient ping pong table, with cracked balls and all the pool accessories were either burst or had been chewed to death, by what can only be previous residents or the numerous rodents.
The outdoor play area was overgrown and the children were banned by the owners from playing on the trampoline due to health and safety reasons.
The outdoor terrace housed swallows, which used the seats and floor as target practice - not the best with 7 under 5's running around.
Internally everything was spacious, but with 2 broken toilets, a broken floor which one of the guests put there foot through, not enough hot water to cope with all the guests, smokey fires, low hanging beams that three of us bashed our heads on, cowers everywhere and broken beds, there was more than enough to complain about, but have a laugh about at night.
The fixtures, fittings and equipment throughout were old and in desperate need of replacing. Chairs kept falling apart and the side to our sons cot kept falling down if he leant on it, meaning for his own safety we had to have him in the bed with us.
We had Andrea cook for us on arrival, which was good, and Mark cook for us on the last night, which was terrible and provided us with another good laugh as it was equivalent to a Roadchef meal.
Finally, on departure Mark came down and was disgusted how we left the place. Given there was 9 adults and 7 children all that was needed was a general clean and some washing up from breakfast - what you'd expect when leaving a self catering cottage. Nothing was damaged, broken, ruined etc... and was relatively clean given 16 people had been living there for a week.
However Mark, in the true style of a bully and coward, muttered something to myself and the other men in the group but shouted at one of the females in the group, reducing her to tears whilst screaming at her to get out of the house. To follow this up he then sent a number of abusive texts to the same woman to the point where it is considered harassment.
Half of the issues we had could have overlooked if it wasn't for the disgusting, abusive and cowardly attitude from Mark, who blatantly didn't want us there from the start.
All in all, this could be a great place if the owners had any money to spend on it, but the lack of investment and attitude issues mean we would not return or recommend this as a family retreat to anyone else.
This holiday accommodation is excellent. I stayed here in late November /early December and the sun shone almost every day which gave plenty of opportunity to walk the beautiful surrounding landscape. I have no hesitation in recommending.
Had a brilliant time at Maison Tranquil. Setting is as tranquil as the name suggests but still close enough to the main cultural activities and of course Carcassonne which was beautiful. Would highly recommend.
