As asian restaurants go in France this wasn't at all bad and it was probably the best of the bunch that I have tried here. Compared to some of the bangladeshi restaurants around Brick Lane in London and, to be honest, throughout the UK it probably is only average with an honourable mention. The problem for me is that in France all cuisines appear to be served as if they were French ie entrée, plat principal then dessert. Of course not all food is meant to be served this way.
Anyway it looks like an Indian restaurant, and the dishes look authentic enough. We found a poppadum awaiting us already on the table when we arrived (on a plate!), and very nice it was too. However there were none to be had on the menu. The starters we ordered were the standard onion bhajis and prawn samosas, accompanied by a selection of three sauces/chutneys the best of which was the lime pickle which had not been dumbed down for the french palate. Main courses were a fish curry and a prawn jalfrezi. Our naans arrived with the starters, one garlic and corainder and the other cheese. The former was very tasty albeit the smallest naan I had ever seen and the latter seemed to be filled with La Vache Qui Rit (DairyLea). We ordered just the one serving of rice - the smallest portion ever and yet it was enough. Neither main dish was amazing but they were more than acceptable and were relatively hot and spicey. We ordered a couple of side dishes to share : Okra and a Dal Paneer. Again very acceptable. My partner finished off with a kulfi. With a lassi and a bottle of Cobra we paid 63€. Not a king's ransom yet not exactly cheap either. In between visits back to the UK we'd go back but perhaps to try out the 9€ or 13€ lunch menus.
