“Bring earplugs if you want to stay here”
Reviewed 13 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I really wanted to write a good review of this place as it is in the perfect location and is really well presented but unless you are deaf or hard of hearing, the level of noise between flats is simply unbearable. Our first two days were perfect as we were the sole occupants but as soon as another couple moved in upstairs things went rapidly downhill. Not only could we hear their converstion but we could have contributed to the discussion - even at night the sound of snoring reverberated down into our bedroom. We managed to get some wax ear plugs at the chemist just a few doors away and that allowed us to survive the trip. Otherwise the flat was delightful - recently decorated, clean and great shower.

I am sorry to read you had difficulties to get along with a snoring neighbor. While renovating the house in 2014 I paid extra attention to the sound insulation and put a tick layer between the concrete floor and the parquet. In any case you should have asked Annette for she would have relocated you on the ground floor with no extra cost. Best regards, Steve

“great location - no sleep!”
Reviewed 8 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

great place to stay as only a few minutes to the centre of the old town. However - we stayed in the middle flat and we could hear the other residents upstairs passing wind, snoring and could have answered their questions about where to eat, as it felt as if we were all together - and chat ??!! - at 1 in the morning I moved to sleep on the sitting room floor!

Dear Sir, you are probably the snoring person referred to by the guest who made a comment on the 13th of September. I am sorry to read you did not get along very well, interpersonal relationships are always a complex topic. Best regards, Steve

We arrived on a very busy saturday afternoon, as it turned out this weekend was a 2day Shrimp Festival in Honfleur. After finding a park for the car in the large foreshore carpark we walked up a couple of streets to be met at the front door by a smiling Annette. We had been allocated the middle flat and she explained everything to us. Had a great 4 days staying here. It was terrific to be able to set off exploring the interesting and historic town right from our front door. The flat was perfect for this part of our holiday. We ate out in the close, local restaurants and brought home seafood from the fishermen on the wharf. The Flat had everything we needed. Thanks Steve and Annette.

“Perfect location, let down by lack of cleanliness and lack of comfort”

This gorgeous little house could not be in a better place for visiting Honfleur. Unfortunately we were very disappointed at the state of the shower (we stayed in the middle flat). The shower itself and the shower door was covered in lime scale and there were areas of the shower which had not been cleaned as there are areas of black mould. The toilet also was not particularly clean. In general the whole flat did not have a clean feel to it. The bed was adequate and I understand that the mattress needed a protective cover but the one provided was extremely unpleasant to sleep on, it was thick plastic. The bed linen also could do with replacing, the sheet provided barely fitted the bed. Cotton bed linen in my opinion is a must to provide a fresh comfortable nights sleep. The laminate flooring also a bad choice. Being in the middle flat was noisy when there were people above to the point that I could not get to sleep on one of the nights. We had a wonderful few days in Honfleur, however we wouldn't choose to stay in this flat again.

Thank you for your feedback. I took good note of your observations and upgraded to cotton bed linens and had a discussion with the person dealing with the cleaning on my behalf. I am sincerely sorry that we could not match your expectations. Best regards, Steve

“Perfect location”

It's not a big flat (we were on the 2nd floor but I don't think the lower floors can be bigger) but we probably wouldn't have noticed if we hadn't had our enormous (6 ft 3 - 190cm)16 year old son with us. He reported that the sofa bed was very comfortable, as was our bed in the bedroom. It's well equipped and Annette was friendly and helpful. The shower, though a bit tatty, was amazing with the option to spray water at yourself from several directions. The wifi after, Annette said, 4 visits from engineers, worked fine. The garage was about 100 yards away .
But that's not why you go to Honfleur - it's in the perfect location, moments walk from the Old Harbour and everywhere else you want to go in this beautiful town.
