Located in the heart of the Pucelle place, this brasserie was particularly busy. Booking recommended. Staff is pretty active and nice. The room is quite noisy and tables quite close to each other, however the seats are comfortable. The menu we selected around 27€ offers a good choice to please everyone. The dishes were served quite rapidly and were well prepared. Not particularly sophisticated, but of good quality.

Hello Xraylux. Thank you for your nice and accurate comments; just one detail, les Maraichers are situated on la Place du Vieux Marché (opposite Joan of Arc's Church). Place de la pucelle is the smaller but nonetheless charming place just next to it. Thank you for underlining the quality of our products, our head chef selects it all himself. We hope to see you again. Kind regards,

Like many French restaurants, this one looks smaller from the the front and opens up when you go inside onto two floors. They offer the set menu (29euros) or A la Carte with all the usual things (Oysters, foie gras, terrines, Steak Tartare, + other classic French dishes) all big portions. Good service quick service. The food is nothing special, but it is quite nice to sit out the front having a drink watching the market square.

We didn't find the service too bad, but felt rather patronised to be offered a menu in English without being offered one in French. We had introduced ourselves in French and we are reasonably fluent in French. We had to ask a French menu as we didn't really understand what was on offer in the translated version.
The food is pretty average - my husband had fish soup which was inferior to the one he'd had the night before at the Petite Auberge. We both had couscous which had ratatouille rather than proper couscous vegetables. One skewer of lamb was fine, one was fatty and virtually inedible - sign of poor quality control and/or not much care in the kitchen?
Decor is nice, wine is okay, but it seemed a restaurant which is not expecting repeat custom.

The service when we visited between Christmas and New year for lunch was professional and friendly. No long waits for any dish, and it was busy
A meal for 3 consisting of salmon starters, steaks, puds, aperitifs beer, wine and coffee in a really pleasant room for 113 euros?

Noticeable how many people, obviously locals came in to eat. Always a good sign.

Cold plates and awful service, the food was very poor, by far the worst meal out I have ever had in France and we weren't the only ones suffering. Don't choose the formula as you will have to stay for cold apples in custard......
