If you are using Avignon as a base to visit other sites in Provence you are in the right place, 5 mins from the train station with easy access to Eurostar and 5 mins from the coach station which travels to many places including Pont du Gard, Aix,Arles etc.
It is also very convenient to walk to the old Avignon.
It is worth paying the supplement for the superior rooms which are clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, with high ceilings for that feeling of space. I was very pleased with the room.
Breakfast was good but not great.
The hotel in itself is pleasant with an interior courtyard which looks very peaceful and there is overall a feeling of space (some of the largest hallways leading to the rooms)
What I thought let the hotel down was the swimming pool, which is on a roof terrace and needs some TLC with new equipment, some tending of the plants and a drinks service would be good.
Also, the food at the hotel is quite expensive , which is not a problem given the choice of restaurants outside, but can potentially deter you from eating in.More
