Spending the weekend in Cannes to attend a wedding in Valbonne ! Decided to book a table @ L'Amandier for dinner on the beautiful roof terrace with spectacular views of Mougins & the countryside beyond!
The restaurant is at the beginning of the village with the Hubac car park handy for parking below!
The restaurant offers various different prixe fixe menus, starting at 32 euros & 45 euros for a 3 course menu, going up to 55 euros for La Cuisine selon Roger Vergé, a 6 course gastronomic menu!
We went for the à la carte menu, starting with Lobster Tortellini, Noilly-Prat melted leeks, creamy Bisque & star anise foam, melt in the mouth little parcels of sweet lobster deliciousness, easily big enough for a main course! Other starters included Parma cheese gnocchi cooked in broth, also very tasty!
Main courses enjoyed included John Dory fillet, lemon & chive juice, artichoke, confit tomatoes, caper. A delectable fragrantly flavoured dish cooked in a light juice which enhanced the delicate fish!
The codfish served with zucchini risotto, butter with pepper juice was also light erred with a fragrant sauce & creamy risotto!
The filet of lamb stuffed with parsley & garlic was also a success, rich in flavour & cooked to perfection!
All washed down with a a crisp Côte de Provence rosé!
We couldn't resist trying a dessert so we chose the Black Forest L'Amandier Style, a contemporary take on the Black Forest gateau, with all its best attributes! Rich dark chocolate, juicy black cherries & light cream....delicious!
Highly recommend a visit to this Mougins jewel for a truly French experience!

This charming restaurant positioned near Mougins's outstanding Museum of Classical Art, welcomed our large family and found us a stunning position overlooking Grasse and the mountains beyond.
The food was superb and devoid of pretension whilst being delicious and exquisitely arranged, like a work of art on a plate. This is a restaurant that deserves a Michelin Star for the sublime combination of delectable ingredients tenderly enhanced by the outstanding skill of its chef Roger Vergé. Karine, our waitress, was charming and most attentive to our every wish. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this gem that allows you to eat whilst overlooking one of the finest landscapes in Southern France. How i wish i was there now! Reviewed by Julia Korner, London

In my opinion this restaurant has the best views out to Grasse home of the French perfume industry and the snow capped Alps. On Thursdays you can improve your French cooking skills with lessons by the chef and cook your lunch. This must be booked and is great fun.

We had a lunch after our wedding signing at the town hall. We visited before, explain the nature of the event and that we would be 16 people. When we arrived the seating on the terrace was stuck to the one wall, leaving the 7 people on this side with alot of difficulty to pass and get to their chairs. Once seated, we were left unattended for over 20mins. Some came to bring some bread, but apart from that no one came to welcome us and present the menus. I, as the bride, had to get up to go inside the restaurant and ask why it was that we had still not be addressed. This was all over the course of 25min with 16 hungry people, who were looking for water on a hot day. The waiter did not speak a word of english. Once we finally had our orders taken, we continued the rest of the meal begging for attention from waiters to serve wine, remove plates and generally be of good service. Over all, it was a bad experience, from the service, to the food, the only thing that was good was the pleasure of my family.

Not the first visit, but every time I return back to my home for 11 years in Cannes, I always come back to l'amandier in Mougins with my wife and friends, this time I came alone. The food well you don't need to add much more then saying " perfect". Few Michelin starred restaurantes can compete with this one, service is impeccable and friendly. You better reserve since it's very popular, ask for a table on the terrace upstairs and you will also have one of the most beautiful views on the french Rivera. I had the Roger Verger Menu, with a beautiful Chablis. You can't go wrong here, I just wish there was more space in my stomach. As you don't want to stop eating.
Love what DENIS FETISSON is doing in keeping the tradition at the L'amandier. Will return very soon.
