We recently stayed 3 nights at the Petit Palais, located in the quiet neighborhood of the Cimiez. We had a lovely room with a balcony that overlooked the old town. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The balcony and view were wonderful.

The air conditioning worked great. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful. We did choose the option of the breakfast buffet (you are in a residential area so there are not restaurants to use) and it was reasonably priced when you compare it to comparable properties. The selection was good.

The only drawback for the hotel is that you need to take taxis or Uber to get downtown or to the waterfront as the hotel is located in a residential area on a hill overlooking the old town. However, the location is also a huge draw insofar as you are away from the hustle and bustle of the waterfront.

You are within walking distance of the Chagall Museum.

My husband is a runner so the hill did cause issues for him insofar as he usually runs on flat roads.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the old town

This is a nice small hotel located quiet part of Nice up on the hills of Cimiez. The hotel has got a nice breakfast, relatively small rooms, but very good service.

Be Aware of nasty elderly German tourists, they shout at you if you speak with normal voice in the garden where they serve breakfast. I had to warn the elderly lady that, this is not her country but France. I have no reason to whisper in a open air garden.

Dear Sir,

The Hotel du Petit Palais is an international hotel and we have no responsibility for the origin of our guests.

Your opinion on German people is not shared in France where racism is punished by the Law.

We have a lot of guests from Germany. They are all very polite educated and civilized persons !!!!

I would just add that an International Hotel can not follow this sort of considerations.

We can welcome All the World with Love

Regards

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the hotel. Great location within short walking distance of museums, the beach, and the rail station all while being quaint and quiet at night. Philippe provided perfect recommendations!

Whenever we vistit Le Petite Palais, we are taken by the hospitable staff, the standard of the rooms (we rent the same room every time!), the fresh Food and the quite area. Le Petite Palais is Our number one Choice whenever we visit Nice.

Hotel was beautiful, the views great and the staff very friendly
The negative was the proximity to the port and old town facilities. This was about a 25 minute walk down hill, with a more sobering uphill walk back
