“beautiful”
Reviewed 15 August 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This is a gem: quaint stone house on a beautiful lot. Very private. The heated pool was a huge hit for the kids. Spectacular viewed of the Luberon. So close to town, don't bother driving. The road biking in the area is outstanding. Would definitely stay there again

“Living the dream in Provence”

Our family of four (children aged 7 & 9) recently stayed at Les Rapieres Gordes for 1 week. This traditional Provencal home was the perfect place to spend a week while exploring the south of France. We were there during an exceptionally hot time and were thrilled to have air conditioning in the main living area of the home and our own private salt water pool with a swim current! We could not get over the breathtaking views of the Luberon Valley and we enjoyed having coffee, wine and meals each day at one of the many outdoor seating areas on the property. The kitchen was well stocked and we happily cooked almost all of our meals at home using both the convection stovetop and the fabulous electric Weber BBQ (we had previously used only gas BBQs and were pleasantly surprised with the electric Weber!). The house is perfectly situated less than 1km from the centre of Gordes where we walked everyday to get bread from Mamie Jane's delicious bakery and to source fresh meats and vegetables for dinner. There were so many beautiful small towns to visit in the area (each with their own market day), and we even fit in a day trip to the Mediterranean to see Nice and Cannes.
The owner of the home lives in a separate house on the property and is readily available if needed, but we felt like we had our own private oasis in the country and were never disturbed. The owner was very helpful and friendly, but is much better at communicating in French (as one would certainly expect in a small town in France!). Overall, we wished this was the beginning of "A Year in Provence" instead of only a week in Provence. We hope to return to Les Rapieres Gordes one day soon...

“Peaceful and charming”
Reviewed 28 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have stayed here on 2 occasions and we will return again. If you are looking for a typical Provencal house, this is it. The house is well equiped, the kitchen even has an induction stove. You can eat both in the kitchen and in the livingroom but we always sat outside (there are 3 tables to choose from!) and used the surprisingly good electric BBQ a lot. The garden closest to the house is shaded, which is very nice when it's hot, and down by the pool there is plenty of sun. The pool is quite large and has a jet stream if you want to practise swimming. The house is located 1 km from the center of Gordes, just the right distance for a morning walk to buy bread for breakfast.
What we like the most with this charming house is the tranquility, the privacy and the fantastic view of the Luberon valley.

Liked best: The peace, quietness, and of course the view
Liked least: Since we don't speak French communication with the owner was a bit of a challenge.
