La Pension Edelweiss
Ranked #14 of 67 Marseille B&B and Inns

We stayed one night at Pension Edelweiss and it was ideal. The room was stylish and cosy with a balcony overlooking a typical Marseille street. In a bustling city, this guest house felt very safe and is a 5minute walk from the station and a 15minute walk to the main harbour.

Breakfast was a unique experience, sitting round a table with the other guests (all very friendly) with unlimited bread, jams, coffee, pastries, etc. I couldn't recommend this more highly in a city where finding good value, comfortable accommodation is difficult.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the condition of the street - once you're in, it's fantastic.

We spent two nights here exploring Marseille before moving on to holiday in the countryside. Its location five minutes walk from the station is perfect and it's really central for getting to know the old city. It really is a totally unique and fun place to stay, packed full of retro memorabilia - like living in a time warp - but in a good way! So many fascinating collectibles to look at. We had the green room at the front and the bed was so comfortable, amazing! Some road noise but that's the downside of being so central. Loved the salon for a pre- dinner drink and the balcony off the kitchen for a night cap. Breakfast was huge and delicious - fresh fruit, croissants, granola, lovely bread and vast array of jams. You all sit round the kitchen table and we enjoyed chatting to other guests but this could be challenging if you're not a morning person! Nancy the housekeeper is lovely and very helpful and welcoming. She speaks excellent English and even came to find us at the station as we arrived late at night and were disoriented . If you want somewhere to stay that's the antithesis of bland corporate hotels then this small funky place is for you.

Fascintating & quirky B & B. We stayed in June (for a second time) with family, and Bernadette accommodated us all on the ground floor, which worked really well. The breakfast is fabulous. Bernadette is very informative and we loved her recommendation for lunch in the local Kurdish restaurant. There is a good underground carpark very close by and the location is good for the city and also the station. We'll definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Pension Edelweiss last week with my boyfriend and it was one of the best hotels that we've both stayed in, stylish, courteous, super helpful owner and manager, and breakfast at a reasonable time....9am to 10 am.
We loved the room which had a small balcony, excellent for the smoker boyfriend, leather arm chairs, a huge chandelier and was painted dark green....it was fabulous!
I would advise any or friend and acquaintances to stay here, it's a unique hotel that really goes that extra mile.

Room Tip: If you smoke ask for the room with the balcony.

Stunning room, clean, comfy bed, amazing free breakfast. The host was very accommodating and gave us some very good tips. The room was a bit of a high light and we loved staying there and would highly recommend to anyone. Great value for money. Thank you :)
