Once you cross the old bridge to the opposite side of the river you will find a sign Schlangenweg/Philospoherweg directly across the street. The path is cobbled stone and a bit of a climb. It is not steep but rather "snakes" its way back and forth hence its name. A local was even running up the path with his dog. Those of us far less fit certainly paused a few times on the walk up. The views from the Philosopher's way gives you a different perspective - you can see the town and the castle. The way is lined by a lot of private gardens full of flowers and plants. We primarily went up for the view, walked a little took some photos and turned around and retraced our steps. There were no other tourists there at 9 am.
