Owner description: This prominent public square, the largest in Munich, still stands as the center of social activity in the city, much as it has throughout history.

Always something going on, don't miss the clock . Lots of restaurants and shopping around the perimeter. It gets crowded.

This place is buzzing with activity and people, and there is the cool clock tower show 3 times a day. Spend a little time here before or after heading to the Marketplace, which completely rocks (separate review).

A must visit place when you visit munich. While enjoying the old town you can walk around, enjoy street music and do some shopping or sitting at nearby cafe.

Its best to visit in the morning. The place crowded with lot of people in the evening.

As it is an open areas. Dont forget to bring umbrella or raincoats during rainy day!

The cafe within the area mostly very touristy, full with people and rather expensive. If you want something more local delicasies with affordable price you should visit viktualienmarkt (its very near from marienplatz)

This is where it's happening in Munich. Beautiful churches, towers, monuments, etc. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. We did a free tour from Mary's Column (in the center of Marienplatz) which was quite good.

No need for a review, it's a must see day and night. For the full experience, stop by at 1100, 1200 or 1700 to see the show.
